The Philadelphia Eagles Are Definitely Not The Team We Saw Last Year

What team blows a 17-0 lead in the fourth quarter? Like honestly.

The Philadelphia Eagles Are Definitely Not The Team We Saw Last Year

We are going into week 8 with the NFL football season and I don't think Philadelphia fans are happy with what is happening. The Eagles are now 3-4, when they could easily be 5-2 if they didn't blow their leads against the Titans and Panthers. I understand that there's still a little over half the season left, but this is not looking too good. Don't get me wrong, they still have a chance to bounce back since they are currently 2nd in the NFC East right behind the Redskins who are 5-2, but what does the rest of the season hold in store for us?

At this time last year the Eagles were 6-1, with their only loss being agains the Kansas City Chiefs. That should be a warning sign for the previous Super Bowl LII champions. They went on to be 13-3 at the end of last years season despite losing Carson Wentz towards the end of the regular season, and made their way to Minnesota with Nick Foles to play Tom Brady and the Patriots in the Super Bowl. Now? They are 3-4 going to LONDON this upcoming weekend to play against the Jacksonville Jaguars. It's not even the fact that they are playing the Jaguars that scares me, it's that they are far from home in a setting that they have never played in before. Personally, I believe this could be an easy game to win since the Jaguars's defense has not been holding up too strong, but this new setting is a game changer.

After their game in London, the Eagles will play 4 division games within the 6 weeks. Two of them being against the Cowboys, and the other two being against the Redskins and Giants. The other two games within that time period will be against the Rams and Saints. Quite honestly I am terrified to see how the next six to seven weeks go. Those division games are KEY to getting into the playoffs, and the Saints and Rams are not two easy teams to overcome. Especially with the Rams being the only undefeated team in the whole league. If the Eagles want to have another chance of making it to Super Bowl let alone the playoffs, then they better start getting their act together.

So what is it that is causing the Eagles to slide down the throne? I truly believe it is our defense. Yes, we have slip ups on offense, but we keep blowing leads because of our defenders. We keep allowing fourth down conversions in the fourth quarter and we leave our opponents wide open in moments when we really should not have. That, in my opinion, is our biggest problem. Others may disagree, but that is what I have been seeing within the past few weeks. This is not the Super Bowl caliber team that was playing this past year.

Overall, The Eagles need to get their act together and start tightening up their game. They have the potential, the players, and the coaching staff to make it to the top again. That is absolutely a fact. They just can't be making silly mistakes and plays like they've been doing. Am I upset with them? A little bit. I still have hope though. The Panthers game really brought me down and I was too disgusted to be wearing my Eagles apparel after they lost. I don't want to feel that way again, and I am sure other Eagles's fans would agree with me.

So Eagles, please understand that we are not hating on you or anything. We, the fans, are just very confused and upset with what's happening. The Birds shall fly as the season goes on. We believe in you. Fly Birds Fly.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
