You are writing a paper and are stuck without a single clue as to what to write. It is due at midnight. It's 10:00 pm. You're stressed. You panic. "What do I do? What if I don't finish it? The teacher doesn't accept late work!" You let out a little scream inside. You begin to sniffle. Soon one big fat tear rolls off your cheek. Then another one. And another one. Pretty soon your face is streaked with tears. But you're in a public place, you tell yourself. I can't cry here. Oh dear, the waterworks have began. But never fear, I have compiled a short list of 5 ways to cover up the fact you are crying in public without giving it away. Take a look:

1. Go to a museum and find the simplest painting and sit in front of it and just let it all out

You've had a bad day. You're stressed and want to blow off some steam but you are among people and crying in public just isn't allowed. Well, thanks to the idea given by comedian Lisa Schaeffer (who came to Willamette awhile back), your woes can be resolved. According to her, you should go to the nearest art museum and find the simplest painting there. Then you sit in front of it and just slowly let it all out. People would think you're very sophisticated and that you see something that they don't. That blue dot there? It must represent her family. Classy.

2. Watch a sad movie

What better time to let out all the waterworks than a sad movie? All those feels about your favorite character's dilemma in a film you've watched too many times to count and know the ending of but it still gets you every time. Who can judge that? It's called empathy and that's what makes us human.

3. Read a sappy romance novel

Really any Nicholas Sparks romance novel you have ever read. You must have bawled your eyes out. Someone always dies and the main characters always fall in love with each against all odds and ride off in the sunset, right? Why can't real life be that easy?

4. Take a nap

This one is a no-brainer. Fall asleep with your head in your arms on the table and no questions asked. You're sleeping so no one in the right frame of mind would ask you why you're crying. Sounds good to me!

5. Cover your face with a big newspaper

The best disguise in the whole wide world when you're feeling blue. Just put that big newspaper in front of you and pretend to read it as you let go of all your sorrows.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
