"Wow, are you guys sisters?" is a common question when my mom and I are out on the town, and I believe this to be a huge compliment to me. My mom is a constant presence in my life who I never have to worry about growing apart with. She is my best friend who has fought, laughed and cried with me as i have grown up and realized how hard life can be. There are few things that match the connection between a mother and daughter and as I grow older and become a women myself the relationship only grows stronger.

1. She's been around your whole life

Your mom has been around since birth so she knows just about everything about you whether you life it or not. She knows what makes you tick, she knows your favorite food, show or store.

2. Not many things surprise her

Over the years I have realized my mom has lived through similar things that I have and when something happens to me she's not surprised by it. I can tell her just about anything and know she'll understand.

3. Sometimes you fight like sisters

A relationship with your mom has its bumps and whether your fights are full on blow outs or calm but tense talks, at the end of the day you still love each other.

4. She will always be your biggest cheerleader

No matter what I do I know my mom will always be proud of me, she will always think I am the pretties thing to walk this earth and that any man would be lucky to have me. After years of hearing how great she thinks you are, it never gets old.

5. She gets that men suck, cause she was 19 once too

Sometimes we forget that our dad wasn't the only person our mom ever dated, unless your parents are high school sweethearts, and that she has been young and in love. She understands that boys can be mean and play games with you and leave you confused and hurt. She's been there and knows exactly what your feeling.

6. She is always right

Somehow mothers have this inexplainable knowledge that comes from heaven that helps them know everything. It can be annoying but at the end of the day you appreciate it.

7. She's always down for a dance party

Im a strong believer in turning the music way up and dancing around the room. I love that I have a built in dance partner at all times.

8. No matter how much you deny it, you're just like her

At the end of the day you two have similar personalities, facial expressions, and demeanor. Face it, you're more like your mother than you thought, but that's not a bad thing.
