When Your Little Sister is Your Best Friend

They make you want to pull your hair out, but they are the best friend to have.

When Your Little Sister is Your Best Friend

Friends tend to come and go. Sadly, even your relationships with best friends can slowly unravel and become distant. However, if you have a sister, especially a little sister, you always have a built-in best friend. Yes, at times, they can make you want to pull out your hair, but you always have that older-sibling ranking over them. Most of all, having them around is the best feeling for many reasons.

1. They are always there when you're hurting.

Had a bad day? Your little sister wants nothing more than to make you smile again. Possibly so that you feel good enough to take them somewhere, but regardless, they are an advocate for your happiness.

2. They listen to a detailed report of your day like they actually care.

You can tell them every single little detail of your day, and they actually care. Or at least they act like they do. Whether they're really listening or not, they always offer their best sisterly advice, and never leave you feeling lonely.

3. They are the first one you call when something insane happens.

You just got harassed in public, or got a horrible grade on a test? Call your little sister. They will be there to comfort you. In reality, that probably means they will make fun of you, but it makes you feel much better.

4. Delirious, sleepless nights.

If you have nothing to do, you always have your little sister to hang out with. This means staying up super late, until absolutely everything is funny. You will end up laughing for thirty minutes straight until someone ends up having to run to the nearest restroom.

5. They are straight up with you.

Honestly, they do not really care about hurting your feelings, therefore, they give the most honest boyfriend, fashion, and life feedback. If they hate your outfit, they will tell you. Have a booger? They will tell you, without a doubt.

6. They know you better than anyone.

They can automatically tell when you have had a really bad day, or when you are on top of the world happy. They just have those sisterly instincts. Sometimes, they even know you better than you know you, and they say that you are angry when you really aren't.

7. They always have your back.

Personally, I have a sassy and feisty little sister, and she always defends me. Even if that means getting herself in trouble. She always has my back. When you have a little sister, you are never alone in fighting battles.

8. Your snapchats to each other are the ugliest.

Bored at school? Snapchats from your little sister will have you dying laughing in a silent room. There are no judgments, so naturally, you send the most horrendously ugly faces you can possibly make.

9. They say things that you just thought about.

At times, you will be thinking about a subject, and suddenly, your sister will say it aloud. Amazing. It must just be that sister telepathy.

10. They are your best friend.

Above all, the relationship you have with your little sister is so much closer than any relationship you will have with anyone. They've seen you at your worst and at your best, yet, they still love you more than anyone.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
