Spring break, everyone loves a well planned spring break. Sunny beaches, good friends, good times. When friends attend different colleges after high school, they can run into having different spring breaks. I miss my best friends. Some of them work, some of them have class. I've made a list of things to keep me busy on my "loner" spring break.
1. Spend a whole day in your pajamas.
This is my sole dream and it will be fulfilled; it must!
2. Finally make a dent in the pile of laundry hiding in your closet.
You know you're pushing that off until you run out of underwear, you savage.
3. Cook yourself something nice.
Or I mean, attempt to cook something nice, in my case.
4. Sit down and finish your homework.
You will thank yourself Sunday night.
5. Start working out.
And I don't mean "jogging" to the fridge rather than the usual stroll.
6. Crack open a new book, and finish it.
Ooo, goals, how's exciting.
7. Spend a whole day in your head.
Really get deep with your thoughts, do some meditation, and find your zen. Mentally recharge for finishing out the rest of the school year strong.
8. Visit your relatives.
Because they miss you more than you know.
9. Spend time with your parents,
*cringe* It's only for the best.
10. Spend extra time with your significant other.
Because everyone could use a little extra love without worrying about assignments.
11. Do a little spring cleaning.
Whether that be cleaning out your closet and making trips to the goodwill, clearing out those irritating Facebook friends, or even just finally dusting your damn lamp; do it. It feels good.
12. Do something fun for yourself, alone.
Take the day off and do something radical. Get a tattoo, buy a new set of running shoes, visit a museum, get in the car and drive straight until you hit something. Do whatever it takes to get out of the house, but do it alone. It's good for the soul.
13. Eat healthy. I repeat, vegetables.
Don't eat the leftover Easter pies three days in a row.
14. Spend quality time with your four-legged friends.
Yes, they actually do miss you more than you missed them, if you can believe it.
15. Call your best friends.
Whether they're in classes, working, or traveling, stop and say hi and let them know you're thinking of them. It's always nice to be surprised by old friends.
Spring break doesn't have to be all swim suits and beaches. You can definitely take spring break as an opportunity to give yourself a personal break from responsibilities and worries. Not all your friends will be on spring break at the same time, but these are some tips to keep your mind active and steer boredom away from ruining your spring break.
