You're best friend is your person. They keep you sane when it seems as though the rest of the world is completely bonkers. They understand you, and you understand them. This is why leaving your best friend to attend different schools is so painful. When your bestie goes to a different school, it feels like its impossible to live your life without them.
They are the person that you tell everything to, they know all of your deepest darkest secrets, and you know theirs. They are the one you want to cry to, laugh with, and experience life with. You have more crazy adventure stories than you can even keep track of, and a plethora of inside jokes about the most seemingly random things. You’ve spent more time with them than anyone else you know.
Once school finally starts again in the fall, leaving them after you spent a summer full of late night Pokemon hunts, midnight grocery store runs, and endless venting sessions is defiantly a shock to the system. Life without your bestie defiantly sucks, even if you make other wonderful friends throughout the school year.
Its hard not being able to share every single detail of your life and the crazy memories you've made while away. The year is filled with millions of FaceTime calls and numerous texts throughout the day to update each other about the latest drama thats happening.
You look forward to coming home after a night out just so you can tell your bestie all about the crazy things that went down. Every conversation you have revolves around all of the fun things you plan to do once you're finally reunited, planning out your future adventures and wine nights.
While not being able to see your best friend on a daily basis can seem unbearable and sometimes even downright depressing, it strengthens your friendship over time. You both get to come back with so many new and exciting memories, sharing your experiences once you're together again.
I view time apart as a way to continue to grow, and it makes it that much sweeter to be able to share your experiences with your best friend. At the end of the day, they are not that far away because you will always carry them with you in your heart.
