Friends Are Hard To Find, But When You Do, Your Life Is Blessed.

Open letter to my best friends in college,

Who knew that the day I met you back when we were freshman or that awkward first day of class... we would become lifelong friends. People say college is one of the best parts of your life. It is a time where you get to reinvent yourself and where you have your independence away from home. During these four years, you learn so much about yourself. What people did not tell me are all the personalities you meet. With my job, it was hard to keep up with friends. I felt like every year I had to make a new set of friends because I was an RA. I found one of my best friends last year who happened to be my co-RA. We clicked instantly, and my life would not be the same without her. The transition is hard, but I have met some cool people along the way of my college journey.

I lucked out my freshmen year because I completely connected with my roommate. You hear about all these horror stories of how their freshman roommate was horrible. My roommate was the sweetest person, and we are still very close today. I could not have survived my freshmen year without her. Our late nights talking to all the ridiculous things we did together. The funny thing is my best friend from high school got her room assignment across the hallway when we were freshman. I made some life long friends freshman year, luckily, I was able to click with people in my major too.

Thank goodness after I started to get into my core classes I bonded with some amazing people. One of my best friends today went to the same high school, and now we are in the same major. Who knew we would become such good friends throughout college. (You know who you are) In some cases, we did not have a choice but to be best friends we had so many classes together where we would have to have group projects where we were forced to get to know each other. Another one of my best friends is someone I spend probably the most time with because of our classes, our internships, or just always at each other's places. I am so grateful for all the beautiful people that have blessed my life.

I can officially say I made my life long best friends my freshmen and junior year of college. I know that no matter what, we all have each other's backs. The crazy thing is in 9 months we will be thrown out into the working world. Regardless of where we are in our lives, I know we will stay close. In fact, we have already made plans to live together and go on trips when we graduate. College can be challenging if you do not find your people. Luckily I can say I have found my best friends for life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
