I have decided that one of my favorite things about college so far has been finding my true friends along the way. My most meaningful friendship so far has been with my roommate. While we are in the same sorority, it was a random coincidence that we moved in with each other. This was definitely the best "random occurrence" to happen.
Have you ever had that friend who just gets you? They give you one look and just know what is going on. When you live with your best friend, this happens but times a million. Living with someone gives you the chance to know a person in a whole other aspect than just friends. There are so many things that I have gained from my roommate and best friend being the same person. Here is my list of the top ten things that I have gained from this awesome "roommateship."
1. Your closet is her closet, and vice versa.
2. You always have someone to get ready to go out with.
3. When you don't know what you are doing with your life and can't sleep at 1 a.m. they are 30 feet away.
4. There is always someone there to have a dance party in the kitchen with you.
5. They know when something is bothering you without even saying anything.
6. You can actually be around each other 24/7 and not get tired of each other.
7. You can casually yell "goodnight" to them from your bed and it's completely normal.
8. When something awesome happens, you have someone to cheer you on, because let's be honest, they are excited to hear you stop worrying and complaining about it.
9. People basically consider you a duo. If one of you is going out somewhere, chances are the other is right by your side.
10. If they don't like the person you're talking to, it's a no go, because if they mess with you, they mess with the both of us.
People say do not live with your best friend, and I definitely agree with this. But when you move in with someone and they become your best friend, it is actually perfect. I would be lost without mine and I am thankful every day.
