Now that spring break is long over, I have accepted the fact that I am indeed a warm weather person.
Nothing can lift my spirits more than a sunny sky, and weather that does not require me wearing a long black parka (A.K.A. most weather here in Michigan).
Don't get me wrong, there are parts of the cold that aren't bad at all. There is just something about warm weather that can consistently put me in a good mood.
Many ask, "Why haven't you been able to adjust, haven't you been in cold weather for a majority of your life?"
Yes, I have. But, with longer days and shorter nights, how can you not always wish for the warm period of the year?
I love Michigan, but I love it the most when I don't have to trudge through the snow to make it to class on time. So I am proud to say I am a warm weather person. However, it didn't happen over night. I think I have been adapting into this person for a long time, and here is how I know:
I Love To Tan
No matter what time of year it is, I am always ready to soak in that vitamin D. From the smell of sunscreen, to the bronze look that comes after, I am guilty to say I crave the sun.
I Am More Motivated
I have begun to notice that the warmer the weather, the more motivated I am to get things done. Whether it's working out, or going out with my friends, warm weather makes it easier to want to leave the comfort (and warmth) of my bed.
Driving With The Windows Down
Being able to enjoy the cool breeze with a great song playing on a nice warm day can trump any negative emotion I am feeling. Portraying the same task in winter would result in a snow filled car, or frostbite, so I am team warm weather again for this reason.
The Birkenstocks
First, I would like to point out that I have been wearing them all winter. However, it isn't exactly socially acceptable, and I know that in warm weather I can rock the look any day I want. If you care to disagree, although they are incredibly comfortable, just think flip-flops everyday.
Happier Colors
The winter is always dark, dark, dark. The coats are black, the scenery is dull, and the sun is normally gone before six o'clock. As the warm weather closes in, things change. Fashion is suddenly run by pink, orange, and yellow, and the colors of spring are enough to make me skip the bus, because I actually would love to walk.
I Am Always Cold
I am that person that turns the heat all the way up in the car, or in some cases my house, because I am physically unable to be warm. It's shown by the random shivering, or the need to always wear my parka as soon as I step outside. Sure, these mannerisms are often the most prominent in the winter, but I just really wish it was always warm. Don't you?
