What Your Study Music Says About You

You're not who you thought you were.

What Your Study Music Says About You

Everyone has their own way to buckle down and concentrate when trying to study to ace their midterms, but did you ever stop to think about what your study music says about your personality? From classical to rap, there are as many genres as there are people to listen to them. Here's what your study music says about you:

Classical

If you listen to classical when you study, then you're the type of person who takes your studies very seriously, to the point that Beethoven would come back from the dead and write another symphony for you to ace your upcoming midterm.

Pop

When you listen to pop when you study, there's just something about these upbeat songs that keep you bopping along while your nose is in the books. Nice choice because that catchy tune will be stuck in your head during your test, and will be sure to help you remember the answer to that question.

Rap/Hip-Hop

If you feel like a straight thug when studying, you probably listen to rap or hip-hop. You have a poetic soul and underneath all that studious nerdyness you create mean lines with your study material, and spit them Slim Shady style to yourself during the test. Just please don't drop your mixtape during your next midterm (unless it contains a secret code with all the answers).

EDM

Classical is too relaxing for you and lyrics distract you. Electronic music gets your blood running and puts you in that trancelike state to absorb as much information as you can before that test. Don't get too deep though. Before you know it you'll be raging around the lib with your cubical nowhere in sight.

Country

Stop. Put down your beer and stop daydreaming about your significant other (or lack thereof), and get rid of the romantic notion that you'll actually pass that exam without cracking open a book. Otherwise your college career will last no longer than an eight-second ride.

Metal/Screamo

Please don't break the cubicle with your head-banging in an attempt to get the material into your brain.

No Music

You are the Miyagi of studying because somehow you're able to tune out everything and everyone. Keep doing what you're doing, you master studier you.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
