As spring approachs students everywhere become anxious for summer. We are all guilty of that craving for warm weather, bonfires, and late nights with friends. Oh, and how could I forget, the refreshing taste of a mango popsicle while sitting poolside. When the thoughts of summer fill our heads that is when the real procrastination begins, and we are mentally done with school. The motivation to study, or write that final paper is completely gone. Why is there so much work given to us this close to the end? Sorry professor, I would rather be building a sand castle instead of creating a powerpoint on the functions of the human brain.
Once I complete that last final my school year is complete. I don't know about you, but there's some things that I will not miss about school.
Sharing Bathrooms
UHM HELLO, I do not enjoy sharing a bathroom with 20 other people. I'd rather not walk down the hall in a towel, makeup dripping down my face, and squeaky wet flip flops with a crowd of people staring at me. I enjoy a good shower just as much as the next girl but in college, you're forced to take 5 minute showers because the girl before you decided to use all of the hot water and not warn you.
Cafeteria Food
One word .... GROSS. Any typical college student can tell you that their dinners consist mostly of pizza rolls and Capri sun. Most of us won't waste the time to go to the cafeteria because it's likely we aren't going to eat the meat (because you can never tell what it is.) If you're brave enough to go to the cafeteria, props to you man.
Stress
When you have three papers, a power point and group project to get done you may be under a lot of stress. You'll spend hours in the library and still feel like you accomplished nothing at all. Don't forget about that statistics exam you didn't study for. School can be overwhelming I know, but don't worry you got this.
Waking up early
I am NOT a morning person. Setting an alarm for 7:00am has to be one of the hardest things. Of course the alarm will go off at 7:00am but what time do I get out of bed? More like 7:30. Along with that comes messy hair and a thrown together comfy outfit for the day. ( AKA looking homeless)Sometimes even leftover makeup from the previous day. Yeah I know I'm not the only one. It is a struggle isn't it? Summer is MADE for us students to be able to sleep in. No alarms, and no more throwing yourself together last minute. Wakeup late, take a nice shower, do your hair, and pick out a killer outfit.
Oh believe me I'm sure there are many many, more things you will not miss as you break for summer. These are just my top 4. Now go do something fun!
