Before you never go swimming in the ocean because you are afraid of a shark attack, just know that the odds are in your favor. You risk your life in car driving everyday, and even apparently taking selfies, so there are risks everywhere, not just in the ocean.
Sharks aren't as bad as you think they are.
I know they're big...
...and I know they have a lot of teeth...
But you can't let a movie like Jaws depict your idea of what sharks are like.
They're just trying to blend in with us, having to share the ocean.
There are so many of them but they're really not that interested in us.
I mean, don't be an idiot and treat them like they're a domesticated animal.
But we are more of a threat than sharks are. For each human killed in a shark attack, there are about two million sharks killed by human beings. So this means sharks kill 12 people per year while people kill 11.417 sharks per hour.
In 2015, more people killed themselves taking selfies than dying from sharks.
You are more likely to be killed by a cow than a shark.
(Side Note) This is not a tiger shark.
