Prayers for Mr. President

Why We Should All Pray for President Trump
Slate

It is January 20th, 2017.

It is Inauguration Day for the United States of America.

It is a day in history that many Americans never thought would come before their very eyes!

Whether you are a first-time voter, or a tried and true voter... more than likely you are sitting there blank faced and wondering, what is the proper response to this crazy thing that is happening in the world as we see it.

None of us know what will ultimately come of the next four years for our country, but who are we to divide instead of uniting? Why give up before the battle has even begun? We may not agree with a single word that comes out of President Trump's mouth, but we must all agree with one thing, and that is that at the end of the day whether we won the battle or not, President Trump is still only a human who needs our love and support in continuing in this crazy thing we call life.

As history can surely show to us all, dangerous things are among us all too often, whether it be a threat or an attack. The only way to better ourselves and to show others is to act with grace and dignity, instead of misery and stupidity (which we will surely regret the next day). As we move forward TOGETHER, we must remember George Santayana's wise words: "Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it," and hold them tight to our hearts to ensure that we may walk a path that respects not only ourselves but the people far before us and long after we are gone.

"I will fight for you with every breath in my body -- and I will never, ever let you down.

America will start winning again, winning like never before.

We will bring back our jobs. We will bring back our borders. We will bring back our wealth. And we will bring back our dreams." - President Trump's Inaugural Address

As I hear these words, I can't help but grow hopeful. It may be short-lived and I may be sorely disappointed, but I can't remember a time that our president has stood in front of a nation and whole heartedly said he would fight for the US. America will win! America will become more, better, whole, complete!

We will become great TOGETHER!

With his decree to us that he will fight for us, we should only have enough dignity to be able to fight for him. Fight for his life! Pray for him to succeed. We all want success, and ultimately what is his success is our success. Pray to whoever you love, whoever you worship. Pray that Mr. President is protected wherever you are in the world and whoever you chose, it doesn't matter for two minutes, just pray for our President to be the best that he can be.

Dear (God,vAllah, Buddha, etc.)

Please protect our President, please keep him safe from harsh temptations. Please keep his eyes on the path to righteousness. Please be with him and in him to guide our country to the greatness it deserves. Please guide him to show the love of unity and acceptance of greatness. Please be a guiding light to the path that is appropriate.

And we all said amen!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
