What We Saw At The Met Gala 2016

In case you didn't know last week was the Met Gala, it was a pretty glam night and I'm still not over it. The Met Gala is basically celebrity prom which takes place every May. There were tons of celebrities and tons and tons of glamorous gowns. There were so many looks ranging in style, color and trend and they were all pretty memorable. Here is just a glimpse of what we saw at the Met Gala 2016.

The theme of the night was "Manus x Machina: Fashion in the Age of Technology" so a really popular trend that we saw throughout the night was the glam futuristic look.

This was Kylie Jenner's first Met Gala, and she looked phenomenal and had all eyes were on her and her stunning Balmain gown. Her hair was the perfect length to go with her dress, which was dripping in jewels from head to toe. Although this gown has an edgy and futuristic vibe that clearly goes hand and hand with the Gala's theme, it almost has a 1920's vibe as well. Amazing dress.

Kim and Kanye were on the same page as Kylie and wore Balmain, and they also looked very metallic and glam. Kim and Kanye were certainly going for a specific kind of look, futuristic with a hint of a zombie vibe. Kim's dress looked like it was made out of mirrors which made her look like she was wearing a suit of armor -- that was pretty cool. Kanye stood out as well, wearing color contacts along with his over the top, embellished Balmain jacket paired with a T-shirt and ripped jeans.

Jourdan Dunn, looked amazing in her semi-sheer metallic gown. This gown was also Balmain and is similar to Kim's gown in the sense that it also looks like a suit of armor. The high neck is amazing as is the whole design of the gown, clearly very intricate, detailed and completely unique from anything else we saw. So beautiful and so edgy.

Zayn Malik stole the show with his robot arms. His suit was Versace and his girlfriend, Gigi Hadid, looked stunning in her Tommy Hilfiger gown. Gigi's charcoal gown with metallic details gave her a futuristic look without making her look robotic like her boyfriend. Her dress had lots of sequins, a unique high neck detail and a sheer skirt, very different and very beautiful.

Although many celebs took the theme of the night and ran with it, stepping out in very futuristic, sci-fi inspired, modern, edgy, metallic, and even robotic apparel, some did their own thing and looked fantastic as well.

Beyonce looked ridiculously amazing in her latex gown designed by Givenchy. Who else could make latex look this good? The dress was skin tight with puffed sleeves, which was very different. It is also showcased delicate flower details and pearls which covered the dress. Rumor has it that each pearl cost $8,000, but Versace has yet to comment on the price of the gown so it could very well be just a rumor. Either way, it doesn't really matter -- the dress is stunning.

Rita Ora looked very unique and glam in Vera Wang. The gown was covered in feathers from top to bottom with cut outs of reveal some skin. This probably is not everybody's taste but it does not look bad and it is definitely eye catching. Without a doubt one of the most different and dramatic looks of the entire night.

Nina Dobrev can do no wrong so it was no surprise when she looked flawless in her gold Marchesa gown. So different from other looks of the night. While many people went with silver or gun metal for their color scheme, she did her own thing by standing out in her stunning gold gown which had beautiful floral embellishment throughout. So classy, elegant, glam and doesn't she look like she's channeling her inner Disney princess? Such an epic gown, love it.

Claire Danes wore a beautiful Zac Posen gown. The gown clearly made her look like Cinderella, but that's not even the best part. The gown was lined with fiber optics which allowed it to glow in the dark..

How magical is that? Talk about fashion in the age of technology -- such a unique twist. Glowing or not the dress was so elegant and fit for a ball.

That was just a glimpse of some of the stunning looks we got to see at the 2016 Met Gala. There was so many more amazing looks from Taylor Swift and Kendall Jenner to Bella Hadid, Lady Gaga and more! There was so much fashion to see, but these were a few of the most iconic looks of the night.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
