Note: Spoiler alerts for season six
The wait for season six of "Game of Thrones" has been too long and full of suspense. In the season five finale, Jon Snow was stabbed multiple times by the men of the Night's Watch (I still cry every night, my poor baby), a naked Cersei paraded through the streets as punishment, shamed by a chanting nun; Arya is blind, the Mountain is alive, Stannis might be dead, Daenerys has been surrounded by Dothraki of unknown alliance, and so much more. As of Sunday, April 24, some questions have been answered and some new ones have popped up. Here are the 11 best parts of the "Game of Thrones" season six premiere:
1. Jon Snow's blood
At the end of season five, many viewers were convinced the pattern of Jon's blood (as it leaked out of his beautiful body) looked like a wolf. Now, after Ser Davos moves the corpse from the snow and inside, the pattern looks like a dragon—possibly alluding to the secrets of Jon's birth?
2. Sansa and Theon are alive
Last we saw, the two had jumped from a battlement at Winterfell, possibly to their death. Now they're running through the woods to escape Ramsay's hounds, even crossing an icy-cold river to throw off the scent. Everything is so loving and wonderful.
3. Alliser Thorne is actually Donald Trump
He gives a speech after Jon Snow is discovered dead, and it's honestly pretty easy to envision him behind a podium, campaigning for the presidency. We all know he was very against Jon's alliance with the Wildlings.
4. Brienne and Pod to the rescue
Unfortunately, Sansa and Theon are caught by Ramsay's men and just before they're dragged back to Winterfell, Podrick and Brienne come riding up and absolutely decimate the enemy in the most satisfying skirmish they've been in thus far. Plus, Sansa finally accepts Brienne's offer of her sword as protection and it's perfect.
5. Daenerys is safe (pretty much)
So it seems the Dothraki she is captured by don't want to kill her, and have just taken her prisoner. She's forced to walk alongside their horses and endure some pretty terrible insults spoken in Dothraki, but they have no idea she speaks the language and she puts them in their place real quick.
6. Ellaria kills Doran
She hands him a note, then stabs him right in the heart, claiming he isn't a true Dornishman because he let Elia and Oberyn die and did nothing in revenge.
7. The Sand Snakes kill Trystane
They appear in his room, telling him what they're going to do. They request he picks one—Tyene—but Obara stabs him right through his beautiful face from behind. Tyene proceeds to let her know she's a "greedy b*tch."
8. The Waif fights Arya
Arya sits on a stoop, begging for money, and the Waif shows up to start swinging a pole at her under the pretense of training. Arya is now blind, and looks pretty pathetic trying to hold her own against someone who can see.
9. Ser Davos, Ghost, and Jon's friends are holed up in a room planning revenge
After they bring Jon's body inside and find Ghost, Ser Davos and some of Jon's allies hide from the rest of the Night's Watch in order to figure out a plan of escape and a plan of revenge.
10. Myrcella returns...sort of
She's dead, and Cersei is beside herself with grief. This results in another Jaime-Cersei scene that makes everyone slightly uncomfortable. Cersei reveals how she handles sadness, and talks with her brother about how Maggy the Frog's prophecy has come true.
11. Melisandre is actually old AF
She removes her necklace and transforms into this ancient sack of bones and skin—something literally no one expected. It has also resulted in some pretty hilarious tweets as well as many theories behind the meaning.
