TV shows and movies have hidden meanings which can sometimes be misinterpreted as dirty, but beyond that, growing up surrounded by these kids programs showed me that they had and continue to have an influence on me.

1. "The Rugrats"

"The Rugrats" have taught me that no matter how annoying or mischievous I can be, my true friends will always have my back and that’s all that matters.

2. "Arthur"

"Arthur" taught me things that not only the real world will have to show, but that someone will always be there trying to take something away from you and you can either fight it or let it be.

3. "Spongebob Squarepants"

Spongebob taught me to never be boring but to never take a job that isn’t what you want. He taught me only to wait around for the things that you truly want but if you can’t wait long enough, then do something about it.

4. "Les Miserables"

"Les Miserables" taught me that one act of kindness can change a person's outlook on their life forever.

5. "Beauty and the Beast"

"Beauty and the Beast" showed me that love comes in all different shapes and sizes and that no matter how someone may physically appear is not who they actually are. And that you will always return to where your heart is because after all, home is where your heart is.

6. "That’s So Raven"

This may be a stretch, but "That’s So Raven" taught me that it’s OK to be different. Although some people may be weirded out by you, your true friends will always stick by you (shout out to my group chat). But in the end, your uniqueness may save situations.

7. "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody"

"The Suite Life of Zack and Cody" taught me that family is the most important thing. No matter how many fights or dumb ideas were constructed, they always end up best friends at the end of the day.

8. "High School Musical"

"High School Musical/" taught me that no one is just a single stereotype and that’s OK. No matter what, do what you love even if it’s basketball and baking. "High School Musical" was all about breaking the stereotype. Take Gabriella and Troy, for example. The “nerd girl” got the “popular guy. ”Point proven.

9. "Hannah Montana"

"Hannah Montana" taught me to take control of my life. Miley didn’t want to live the celebrity life but still wanted to do what she loved, so she made Hannah.

10. "Smart House"

"Smart House" teaches that although technology is advancing every day, it can never and should never replace a person.

11. "One Tree Hill"

"One Tree Hill" taught me how that no matter who you are in high school won’t be who you are forever. Brooke Davis was someone who was a popular cheerleader in high school who only cared about herself and her social status. She made many immature decisions and her future was doubted by many. She grew up to be successful in more ways than one; this includes starting a clothing line and having two amazing children. She ended up putting her friends and family before herself.

12. "Fresh Prince of Bel Air"

"Fresh Prince of Bel Air" taught me that it doesn’t matter where you come from, it’s all about where you’re going. Of course you should never forget your roots, but who you were yesterday doesn’t matter today.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
