Looking fashionable while skiing is just as important, if not more important, than keeping yourself warm. If you’re cold on the slopes, you’re not going to have fun. But if you’re not wearing fashionable ski apparel and look stupid, you’re not going to have fun either. Here’s a simple guide on how to look great while skiing and keep warm, too.
Long North Face coats: Absolutely under no circumstances are these coats allowed on the ski slopes. These are strictly for walking to class and keeping the upper part of your legs warm, not for skiing. Even if it’s super cold out and you think this coat may help you, you’re wrong. This is what snow pants are for. If it really is a gazillion degrees below zero, maybe put on an extra neck gator or another pair of long underwear. This will help you stay warm and keep you from looking stupid while skiing.
Helmets: Yeah, while riding a bike, most people look stupid wearing a helmet. However, that is not the case while skiing. In my own personal experience, people who aren’t wearing a helmet look a) cold and b) like they don’t know what they’re doing. Everyone wears a helmet while skiing these days; therefore, if you opt out of this new fashion trend and safety measure, you’re just going to look dumb.
Backpacks: If you wear a backpack while skiing you will automatically look more bada**. Even if you don’t have anything to actually put in your backpack, wearing one skiing will make you look that much cooler. You can even store lunch in there if you have nothing else to put in your backpack, which will also help you save money on the mountain considering lunch at ski resorts is always overpriced.
Bright colors: If you wear bright colors while skiing, your friends will be able to find you easier and you’ll look way swaggier. Bright colored ski apparel is super in style right now, even colors that normally wouldn’t be acceptable to wear together are acceptable on the mountain.
Insulate your core: If you have mild circulation problems, or your hands and feet normally get cold, insulating your core and legs will help to keep your extremities warm. Wearing an extra fleece jacket will keep your core warm, while wearing an extra pair of long underwear will warm your legs.
Doing these simple things will ensure that you’ll be stylish, warmer and have more fun on the slopes this season.
