This fall a slew of new television shows will premiere; this article will be your definitive guide to the best and worst of the upcoming fall premieres. These predictions will be based on the trailers and the premise. They will be ranked in no official order.

The Top 5 Shows to Avoid

1. The Exorcist (Fox)

This show continues the alarming trend of movies being made into television shows and much like it's predecessors this looks abhorrently bad. A show based on one of the greatest horror movies of all time should be scary but this trailer offers not one scare in it's entirety; that, coupled with what looks like it could be any generic exorcism movie, this show would need an act of God to make it past more than one season.

2. MacGyver (CBS)

For the love of God, why; why was this show created? Who was asking for a "MacGyver" remake? It looks horrible, the premise that he would be needed on some strategic task force is laughable. The dialogue sounds bad and to boot it looks like a boring procedural with an added twist of adding a character no one born in the last two decades knows or cares about.

3. The Great Outdoors (CBS)

A comedy about the difference between millennials and the older generation could be funny and interesting while comparing and contrast their differences. That seems to be what "The Great Outdoors" is striving for, but it more than misses this objective. When casting for a character who is anti-millennial maybe you don't hire Joel Mchale, who comes across as unbelievable in his role as an anti-millennial Bears Grylls character. None of the other actors seem particularity good, and all of the show's jokes fall completely flat. I didn't smile once during the entire trailer I predict this show will not last long.

4. Star (Fox)

Do you like "Empire?" If so Fox made this show with you in mind. The only problem is they didn't think about making a good show, this show looks like it will have all of the drama of "Empire" without it's quality. While I do love Queen Latifah and she does look great in this show, I'm not sure she'll be enough to save it. None of the characters strike me as well developed; they more seem like cliches, such as poor/tough girl with a heart of gold and spoiled rich kid trying to prove them-self, and a Svengali manager character just to name a few. If you really want to watch a show based on an up and coming musician in Atlanta just watch FX's new show "Atlanta" which promises to be at least better than this show.

5. Kevin Can Wait (CBS)

*sigh...*

Kevin James has always baffled me, how does James continue to get so much work? He's completely unfunny and this trailer enforces all my feelings on James and his work. The shows uses a played out premise of a father that hates his daughters boyfriend. Nothing about this show is unique or interesting - combine that with a bad cast and you have a recipe for a almost certainly horrible show. Most of the jokes are unfunny and generic but this show should last a while since it airs on CBS, which airs such "wonderful" shows like "The Big Bang Theory," "NCIS," "NCIS: Los Angeles" and "NCIS: New Orleans." Yup there's 3 NCIS shows because that's the television we really want.

Top 5 Shows To be Excited About

1. This Is Us (NBC)

This show's trailer is going to instantly giving you the feels as it switches from the euphoria of a pregnant mother getting ready to give birth to triplets, to the pain of loosing one of the triplets during childbirth. I love shows that have characters whose journeys intersect throughout the show or who are connected by a shared trait such as a birthday. Not only does this show have both, it looks to be a well written and acted drama and I'm looking forward to the premiere.

2. Timeless (NBC)

Time travel is the flavor of the fall television season as ABC, NBC, The CW and Fox all have new time travel shows debuting this fall. This series centers on a man who steals a time machine with the goal of changing America as we know it. He is chased through time by a special ops, time machine pilot, and historian who is somehow connected to the main premise. I like the idea that they have to chase the antagonist throughout history, meaning they will get to travel to many diverse locations, which should help the show feel fresh every week. I also like Lucy Preston, the lead actress who has appeared on "USA's Suits;" this is a show worth giving a chance this fall.

3. Son of Zorn (Fox)

No show looks funnier than "Son of Zorn." I love the idea of mixing cartoon animation with the real world and making it more adult themed. The show centers on Zorn, a warrior from a fictional kingdom who is returning home to spend more time with his son while shenanigans ensue. I really like this cast and the way they all interact and I enjoy how the animation and real world are seamlessly melded together. This show is offering something truly different which is why it will be on my to watch.

4. Designated Survivor (ABC)

What if someone bombed the state of the union address; what's the procedure? Who becomes president? That's the premise of "Designated Survivor," which stars Kiefer Sutherland as Tom Kirkman, a low ranking cabinet member who becomes president after a terrorist attack. I love that premise; it should provide for an interesting dynamic between him and the White House staff who don't believe in Kirkman. I think Sutherland looks fantastic and that this show will be the best new show on ABC.

5. Pitch (Fox)

One of the most interesting premises out of any of the new fall shows, "Pitch" centers around the idea that a female pitcher has made it to the major leagues and all of the drama that would ensue. I love the premise for this show, especially in light of Mo'Ne Davis' historic run through the Little League World Series. I think this show could comment on what it's like to be trailblazer in a male dominated industry. I like the lead actress, she seems great and the relationships seem complicated and nuanced and I love that in a show. This show has a lot of potential and if it lives up to it, it could be another hit for Fox.

There's so many shows that are coming out this fall that it'll be almost impossible to watch them all but this list hopefully helps you know which shows to ignore (anything from CBS really) and what to watch.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
