When I first signed up to move into my sorority house, I was a little nervous. Living as a senior with 35 of my sisters can either go perfectly, or it can go so wrong. But thankfully, so far for me it has gone pretty smashingly. It's been one of the best decisions I made, and I'm honestly upset that I never signed up to move in before this year. There have been some negative aspects, but the positive outweigh the negative so much.
There's always someone to go eat with you or hang out with you. Whether it's just on campus or at your favorite local Mexican restaurant, there's always someone hungry. You can just walk into your sisters rooms and see what they're doing if you're bored and you instantly have someone to talk to, hang out with, eat with, do homework with, etc. It's perfect. There's also always someone who has something you need. Need double stick tape for you going out outfit? Someone has it. The worker at McDonalds forgot to give you ketchup, but someone has it. Ran out of utensils? Someone has it. This also goes along with clothes. For me, I get very sick of my clothes very fast. I instantly have 35 closest to choose from (asking permission first). Also, I get 35 personal stylists when I have no clue what I want to wear.
Living in the house with so many girls, you get to always hear the inside scoop on everything. Whether it's the latest gossip or just knowing what's going on with the exec board (since all of them live in the house), you always know everything about everyone. But sometimes this may be a downfall, because everyone knows everything about you as well. But that's bound to happen just being in Greek life in general. You also sometimes can't take a nap in the middle of the day because girls are constantly screaming in the house, but you know it's OK. You can just sleep when you're dead anyway.
All in all, I have learned to appreciate my sorority even more. Maybe I'm just sentimental because it's my last year, but it's made me realize just how strong our sisterhood is and just how much I love my letters.
