Schools being shut down, people being arrested, mass hysteria being created…. All because of clowns.
This is yet another example of mass hysteria created by the United States population. What is UP with America’s tendency to sensationalize every random event that happens unto every social media and news media platform? Trends like the Ice Bucket Challenge, Harambe, Kenneth Bone, just to name a few, catch on simply because they are weird, humorous, and because everybody is talking about it.
The days go by, yet the clown sightings keep rolling in. These pranksters have even gone as far as getting attacked in the name of self defense as they jump in front of innocent bystanders, scaring them shitless.
Here are questions to answer…
How many people have officially been killed by clowns?
Although it seems like these are “killer” clowns, no one has actually been killed in the United States from these sightings. Although there may have been attacks in other countries such as London and Canada, there are currently no known deaths from this strange craze. There have been attacks, but the entire concept itself is mostly just clowns using the perception of clowns to instill fear.
How many of these clown attack videos were filmed by friends of people dressed as clowns?
KickItWithAsh, a popular Youtube blogger, literally put up a video of him and his friend scaring the living hell out of innocent people minding their own business. You know he has no intention of hurting people by watching it, but the people he are chasing after, don't.
Here is why this is so awful: IT IS NOT FUNNY FOR THOSE PEOPLE. They don't KNOW that "its a prank, its a prank!!!! ", as he yelled out in one of his videos, because one of the men he scared punched him in the face and tried to beat him up. People are uneasy walking home alone at night because they don't want to see a clown, and this douchebag is walking around with a baseball bat, CHASING people when they try to run away.
Did the media make it ten times worse by sensationalizing it?
Yes. For the very reason that if this terrifying clown trend never caught on in the first people, people like KickItWithAsh I mentioned earlier wouldn't even start scaring people in the first place. Did people just put clown costumes on to be funny and be a part of the media craze?? Yes, but they contributed to this fear- big time.
We know for sure that one of the sightings was confirmed to be a publicity stunt for marketing purposes, yet many of these attacks are solely being used for attention and for fear. Americans love having fear instilled in them.
There have only been roughly 100 clown sightings, if that. Yet, the hundreds of thousands of people taking to social media, and the millions of people around the world watching and taking note about it, makes it seem otherwise.
Regardless of wether you have seen a clown, have impersonated a creepy clown, tweeted about a clown, or have done anything relating to these clowns, its time to put it to an end. Lets stop talking about it so people stop dressing up because they know they'll be put on social media. Lets end this creepy clown nonsense.
