These are a few of the things I have learned from this election:
1. Politics bring out people's true colors.
When the sweet guy you have in biology attacks you on social media and shuns you because your view on foreign policy differs from his, you see that he isn't as polite as you thought.
2. Many people feel pressured into voting for a specific person because of family.
I cannot tell you how many times I have heard people say that they are afraid to vote for a different person than their family, or that they are afraid to let their family know that their views are different.
3. The majority of people are unhappy with the candidates in this election.
Let's face it, the majority of Americans want different choices. We just have to support each other as a nation and persevere through this until we get what we want. This country is run by the people, for the people. Remember that.
Overall, this election season has taught me that voting can be a stressful thing, but at the end of the day, most Americans feel the same way about it.
This might not be the best election, but if we can unite as a nation and pull through, we will grow stronger from it.
