What A Sorority Girl's Shoes Mean
Prepped In Pearls

You can tell a lot about a girl just by looking at her shoes. While sorority girls are notoriously basic, they are by no means one-dimensional. So, next time you're walking across campus, pay no attention to the letters she wears, but rather the shoes on her feet.

Jack Rodgers.

The official sandal of sororities across the South, Jack Rodgers are the Palm Beach prep classic. The Jacks girl sports letters and a monogram on almost everything she owns. She wears her pearls on almost any occasion and has most likely tweeted or Instagrammed her collection of multiple colors and styles at least once in the past six months.

Nike Free.

She may or may be heading to the gym today, but her outfit says otherwise. The bright colors of her Frees coordinate with her favorite Lululemon leggings, and she's taken the time to make sure she has a pair of Norts for every day of the week. Whether she's walking to class or bending over backward at ballet barre, this girl is the sportiest and loves to show it.

Chacos.

Fun-loving and all-natural, the Chacos girl is always up for Froyo and an adventure. She may or may not have been a Pi Chi at some point, and wears her funky tan lines with pride. Her go-to socials outfit is an oversized, funny t-shirt and she loves her Chacos like her own child. Try to tell her they're anything but stylish and fear the wrath of sorority row's own species of momma bear.

Converse.

White high tops or classic black chucks, the Converse girl is all about fun. She wears them everywhere: to class, to socials, to the library and to the bars. A collection of silly, patterned socks fill her top drawer, one for every holiday and every possible occasion. She loves to share BuzzFeed lists with her roommates and ins't afraid to post an unflattering selfie to Snapchat.

Birkenstocks.

She has already or is currently in the process of planning her to trip to Coachella. The Birks girl is a proud fashionista, and unlike the Chacos girl, will argue her shoes validity in terms of high-fashion style over comfort and functionality. This comfort, hippie classic is the true mark of a Pinterest addict, and her room in undoubtably marked by kitschy canvases and mason jars.

Wedges.

Weeknight with no homework to finish, exams to study for or Netlfix to binge? This is the girl you text when you want to hit the town, even on the chillest night of the week. Cork, wood, platform, T-strap or slingback, she has a shoe for every occasion and her feet have all the blisters to prove it. Don't ever expect to catch her walking home from the bar though with shoes in hand, that has and always will be beneath her.

Combat boots.

What else does a non-Southerner wear to a woodser? The combat boot girl busts out her trendy Troopa boots as soon as the temperature drops below 70 degrees. The closest she has been to the actual wilderness is skiing with her family in North Carolina. Her northern California inspired style is right out of a PacSun catalogue, even if she hates the sand, the dirt and everything outdoors.

Pajama slippers.

Comfort, above all else. And by comfort, I mean barely rolling out of bed to make her 12:50 p.m. You can find her binging "Grey's Anatomy" in her trendy, Pinterest-inspired bedroom, complete with fluffy white sheets and the soft glow of twinkly lights. This girl takes chill to a whole new level.

Crocs.

Nah, just kidding.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
