From the miraculous stage setup to the quick costume changes, Katy Perry owned the night. Millions know her for her colorful outfits and upbeat performances, but this Super Bowl halftime show proved that she knew exactly how to wow the crowd.
Let us begin with Katy Perry's grand entrance on a mechanical lion. Technology is a pretty amazing thing, but I am pretty sure that riding in on the back of a lion is not an everyday invention someone can whip up. Many also forget how hard it must be to look hot and sing perfectly while riding this beast, because she managed to do both. Basically, summing it up, your new life goals are to be Katy Perry.
After dismounting the mechanical beast, Lenny decided to come out and join alongside her. The duo sang her popular throwback song, "I Kissed a Girl," with flames and explosions surrounding them. For me, Lenny was random and could not take me away from the main subject -- Katy.
I must say, the Cinna and Katniss Everdeen duo created a great show for the Super Bowl. He really gave her an outfit to wow the crowd.
Lenny Kravitz (aka Cinna from Hunger Games).
After his debut, Katy came back out after a quick outfit change to Teenage Dream and California Girls. This portion of the performance brought the Katy Perry we all know and love, along with a few new friends. Everyone is obssessing over the twin sharks dancing behind her.
The two have become so globally recognized and now turned into memes and gifs just for doing their jobs. Bring out the dancing sharks!
Lastly, a major throwback came onstage. When I first saw her I couldn't make out who it was.
"Is that Missy Elliot?"
"That is Missy Elliot!"
It left viewers in shock because we all thought she had dropped off the face of the earth.
In the end, Katy Perry presented one of the best halftime performances of all time. After her performance, she was asked about her dating life and simply responded, "I'm just here so I won't get fined." Atta girl Katy.
