There are so many experiences that make people who they are. Most of the time people aren't entirely sure why people are the way they are. If you truly get to know a person, it is interesting to know their quirks and what makes them tick.
Some people think my layers might include whom I am friends with, where I live or where I go to school. People today do not usually care to ask or know about my hidden layers. They won't ask me why sunflowers are my favorite or why I drive with my windows down and my air on at the same time in the summer. But those are the things that make me who I am. Just because I come from a certain place or interact with certain people, it does not mean I am going to be like everyone in my town or everyone I hang out with.
What makes me an onion is that I am always laughing because it makes other people laugh; it brings them joy. I like wearing many bracelets because it makes my arms less boring. I play with my hair when I get nervous to make it seem like I am occupied. I bunch up my blanket to hold onto when I sleep when I don't feel too good. I hug people a little longer than "normal" just to make sure that person is doing OK.
These are some of my hidden layers that people seem not to care about, but really that's where you will find the definition of me. Get to know the underneath, what is inside. That's how you make a best friend or fall in love. When you figure out someone's layers, that is when you can truly know what kind of person they are. Not many people take the time to do that when getting to know someone. It is very rare and I fully suggest doing it because you will create the most amazing relationships with the people around you.
So, what makes you an onion?
