5 Things The Liars From PLL Taught Us
TV guide

After seven years of secrets, betrayal, murder, drama, sinister texts and torturous acts, Freeform’s Pretty Little Liars has come to an end. And yes, I almost bawled my eyes out. In the past seven years, the liars from the five liars have taught us so many lessons. Whether it be how to be a good friend or teaching us how to NOT get killed, the liars have definitely left their mark on American television. Here are the lessons that the liars from Pretty Little Liars have taught us.

1. Aria Montgomery

If anything, Aria has taught us to not give up on anything. She would fight for anything she wanted and didn’t stop until she got it. She went to great lengths to protect her family, friends, and the guy she loved. Her ending was probably one of the best, as she got to marry Ezra, her one true love after fighting for so long.

2. Spencer Hastings

Spencer Hastings (or should I say Spencer Drake) probably has the toughest home life. With her finding out her mom WASN’T actually her mom or finding a twin who has been torturing her and her friends, Spencer’s life hasn’t been the easiest. However, Spencer still stayed strong. Her parents always put pressure on her and trying to make her be this "perfect child. In other words, they wanted her to be Melissa 2.0. At one point, Spencer had just given up and learned that perfection is overrated. She decided to live life on her own terms. The new attitude Spencer developed is something we all learned from.

3. Hanna Marin

In addition to having the greatest one-liners of all time, Hanna has been such an asset to the characters in PLL. She taught us to never care what others think. Hanna has had so many issues with stealing, eating disorders and her parents. Throughout all the craziness happening in her life she has never failed to love herself for what she is and that’s the best thing about her.

4. Emily Fields

Emily showed us that you can be the best version of yourself by just…. being yourself. Emily’s biggest struggles throughout the course of the whole show was figuring out her sexuality but, as the show progressed, she grew to realize that she should be able to love whoever she wants to. At first, she was scared to come out to her family and friends but once she did, she was showered with support. Emily has learned to let her true self shine and hold her head up the whole time and that is something that we can all learn from.

5. Allison DiLaurentis

Allison was the shadiest liar of them all. She has changed the most from the first season and that's the best thing about her. Allison has literally jumped from being dead to not being dead and then to being married to a crazy British guy and finally being engaged to Emily. Her character has changed so much throughout the show and it was all for the better of Rosewood.

There are many more lessons that each character teaches us, depending on how each viewer personally analyzes them. The biggest lesson that each of these characters teaches us is the importance of friendship. These five girls have stuck together through everything, despite some serious fights that broke out between some of them, which shows that it’s important to be there for your friends especially in times of need. These past seven years has been an emotional and suspenseful roller coaster. We can’t believe that this show is over. The drama and suspense will truly be missed.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
