No matter how high your GPA is, we all get stuck in that one class where we don't understand anything that is going on. The teacher keeps talking and you are so lost that you don't even know what you're confused about. It happens to us all at one point in our lives, or more than once (that's cool too). Just remember that you're not alone in this feeling. Here are some steps that happen when you're sitting in one of these dreaded classes.

1. You think you know what's going on.

At first you're following along and things are making sense. Then all of a sudden things get progressively more complicated and now you realize that you're lost and confused.

2. You try to pay attention.

Maybe you drifted off in your thoughts for a moment. You try to pay attention to what is being taught, but then you realize you're focusing too hard on trying to focus.

3. You look around to see if anyone else is confused.

You look at your friend next to you and see if they're paying attention or lost as well. Once you both figure out that nothing makes sense anymore, you look to see if it's just you guys not being able to pay attention or if the teacher is no longer making sense.

4. Now there are questions on the board for you to solve.

And to your luck, these questions are nothing like what you had done as a class. These questions don't follow your notes at all and you wonder if they're even part of the curriculum.

5. You start talking to the people around you to complain.

Now you're turning to the people next to you who weren't paying enough attention to be confused and start complaining about not understanding a thing. They then shrug and say, "I don't know," and then go back to being on their phone / computer.

6. You sit there staring at the teacher until they give you the answers.

If you have any luck left at this point, then you will go over the work as a class and hopefully it won't be collected. So, you sit there and wait for the answers because you've already decided that it's to difficult solve after you've written down the question.

7. The teacher finally gives you the answers.

At this point there's one of two ways this could go. You either understand it now that the teacher is helping you (which probably is least likely). Or, you decide to give up and leave because nothing in your life makes sense after this class. OK, maybe this won't happen, but you'll at least think about doing it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
