In this generation there is such a vast variety of music genres that a person can listen to! Whether it's pop, rap or rock, certain people prefer certain music genres over others.
There are certain people who seem to love all kinds of music! I am glad to say that I am one of them. Ever since I can remember I can think of growing up listening to a diverse variety of music!
When I was with my mom we would listen to 80's rock like Motley Crue and Poison. When I was with my dad we would listen to country artists like Brad Paisley and Tim McGraw. My grandma would always listen to Elvis, so I grew up loving his music as well.
To this day, I can name any Elvis song from the first note and know them word for word.
I'm glad that I love all music genres because no matter what mood I am in, I have something to listen to. Here's what I usually listen to when I get in a mood:
If I'm angry, I usually listen to rap. Some of my favorite artists are G-Eazy, Drake, and Fetty Wap. I love to just belt out the raps and it helps me release all my stress and anger.
When I'm sad I usually listen to soft rock. Elvis is one of my favorites. The passion in his voice puts me at ease and makes me feel better. It helps me get my emotions. A little crying doesn't hurt anybody, especially if it's to Elvis.
If I'm happy I love to listen to pop or rock. There's nothing better than jamming to a fun song with my friends in my car as we drive around.
Loving all sorts of music genres really helps me to appreciate everything about the artist. I love listening to the lyrics, the rhythm, and back beats to a song. I get even more connected if the song has a certain story or memory behind it.
To know that an artist put so much thought and work into a certain song to make it unique and meaningful is so important and I feel like that's the main reason why I love all kinds of music.
It's not the genre that matters, it's the message.
I feel bad for people who are opposed to certain genres of music.
Usually the people who love rock despise country or the people who love hard rock hate pop, and so on.
Everyone should give certain genres a chance. Every artist may not be for you, but maybe you find a song that's catchy or fun!
It doesn't hurt to take a couple minutes and listen to a new song.
I'm lucky that I love all types of music. No matter the mood or who I'm with I will listen to all types of music and any artist. The music library on my phone is crazy since I have such a diverse variety of artists on my phone.
