What It Means To Stand Beside You On Your Wedding Day
Samantha Robbins

How do I begin to describe a friendship that no combination of even the most beautiful of words could attempt to articulate what it is that you mean to me?

For starters, I am proud to stand by such a godly woman on her wedding day. Your kindness is inspiring. Your honesty is humbling. Your compassion is invaluable. Your heart is mighty and made of pure gold. YOU are a beautiful combination of all things Holy, and are perfectly pieced together in God's image. I am so proud to stand beside you on your wedding day.

The richness you bring to my life is sovereign, transcendent, beyond compare. You are honest when I need you to be. You are kind and tender when my heart is aching, and you are cheerful and full of raw happiness when things are looking up for me. You share my celebration and my sorrows, and you have never left me to stand alone in the highs or the lows.

You sacrifice so much of who you are to bring peace and healing and God to those around you. You bring so much love to this world while doing so. I once heard a quote that said "love is the only thing you can give away, and become richer by doing so". You must have learned this very early on.

I know you know that you are worthy of the deepest of loves. That you deserve to be cherished and honored and encouraged and cared for by a Godly man, who can do all of these things because God gives him the strength to! He is your match. He is a man of God. God has touched you through his hands and you have responded to His call home. What a beautiful thing to celebrate.

I will never be able to thank you for all that you have done in my life. There is reason God called our lives to intersect. There is a reason I felt comfortable enough to share my demons with you. There is a reason we have grown so much by simply knowing each other. And although some of these things are inexplicable, and I might not be able to wrap my head around these "callings", I do know they are from God.

So when I stand beside you tomorrow, when we all stand beside you tomorrow, I want you to remember that all of these friendships rooted in Christ, they are unfailing. That marriage will be beautiful, but it won't be a piece of cake. That I will be there through the ups and downs of this journey just as you have been there for me. To celebrate the highs, and comfort you in the lows. That we will all continuously pray for the union we are about to witness. That from this point forward, our friendship is going to only grow stronger, and not weaker by any means.

Tomorrow is the start of the rest of your forever, and I can't wait to join you for the ride! I love you to the stars.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
