What is Wrong With Post-Election Social Media

The 2016 election has been different than any other one in history. Endless controversy. Everyone seemed to hate one candidate with such a passion that they voted for the other. Social media has been packed with political talk, but not the kind it should be.

I won’t lie to you; Trump was not who I hoped to have as a president. This was my first election I have been old enough to vote in. Having to choose between “the criminal” and “the racist” was not how I always pictured my first election. So much hatred was thrown around during presidential campaigning. I am disappointed that this is what campaigning has come to in America.

But I am also disappointed in the social media blow up post-election. People insulting anyone with a different opinion than them, posts insisting that our country is too far gone to ever be saved. We have divided ourselves and I am disappointed.

Now I cannot tell you that I am holier-than-thou and did not participate in this drama. But it is not too late for us America. Love is love. No president can take away our American pride. Maybe you do not like Trump, hell I do not either. But we must stand together and strive to better America. Whether you like him or not, Trump is our president for the next four years. Why are we fighting over who when we have so many other issues to worry about, like education and the economy?

So let us not divide but unify, for the cause of America. If you are religious or spiritual, pray for America. Stay hopeful. Our country has not “gone to shit” because of one man. Stop the hatred. Stop fighting with the ones that you love over this election. Together we can still better America. Fleeing the country will not help anything, complaining will not help anything, and fighting will not help. No one can stop us America. Stand with me. This election will be talked about in every history class one day, what do you want them to say?

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
