Family is forever, no matter what.

"Family first" or how about "family is forever", both are cliches to a point that might seem too simple to be true. However, the reality is that family is the most important thing we've been given. The special gift that family is cannot and should not ever be taken for granted. Family looks different for everyone, but all it really means is that there is always someone to look out for and love you no matter what. Whether that be mom, dad, aunt, uncle, brother or sister and maybe even friends, we all have family and we all need family.

From day one to the day we die these people stick by our side like butter. When we act like the biggest dummy or achieve the greatest success possible they are there. They're a foundation for which we can safely and truly build our life upon and blessing in so many ways. Family is a place to call home, a counselor through struggles and an army to fight for you. I would say all of us including myself so easily miss or more often forget the blessing in what we have.

Every single day, like literally every day, you and I are going about our daily lives to do many things: we grow, we learn and we love. We know love because family shows it, we grow because our family grew us and we learn because our family taught us. It's crazy! Yet it's true! Each moment of every day somehow is connected to our family, our forever home despite this chaotic world. I know what you're thinking, you're probably saying, "trust me, my family is crazy", "my siblings are nuts" or "eh, who even needs family?" right?

Well you're all wrong, (well maybe not about your siblings, haha) because family is a necessary building block as a human being. Family means being accepted by those who want to know you, love you and grow you. That's the simplest form of all these wonderful people in our lives and hearts. What else could we even ask for now??

Seriously, all the wild moments, and heartfelt memories, the low valleys and exciting high points you've walked through together. There is no "end" with family. But there is "fam" + "ily" AKA: I love you! Our families love us through all of us. Nothing we can ever do or have done will change that. So stop, even for a second, remember that you are who you are because of them. We are the people we are because they stopped and decided they wanted to be with us forever no questions asked. Selfless love has built this beautiful gift called family. That love never dies. That love never fades.

Appreciate what you have before it's too late. Don't let the chances to care and to be together go to waste. Before you know it, time passes, days get lost and love ones pass on. Will you have made the most of the gift you were given? I hope we all will have. Family first and forever for life! Remember family won't disappear, things will change, and moments will suck, BUT there is no never in family, just forever!!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
