What I'm Looking Forward To Over Thanksgiving Break

I can't wait to see my family and friends and most importantly, I can't wait to eat.

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, every college student has begun to count down the days until they get to go home. It's the first real break of the semester when you get to go and see your family and take a break for a couple of days. Here's some things I'm looking forward to:

1. Seeing my mom and dad

I CANNOT wait to see my parents. I FaceTime and text them almost every day but I seriously can't wait to see them in person. The homesickness is real.

2. Spending time with my family

I go to my aunt and uncle's house in Cape Cod every Thanksgiving and I cannot wait! Getting to see my cousins Catie and Nicole, their dog Wilma, and just spending time together as a family will be the best. I also can't wait to watch Christmas vacation, which is a Thanksgiving tradition.

3. Seeing my cat

I can't wait to see my little guy and cuddle with him while watching Christmas movies.

4. Seeing my hometown friends

I can't wait to see my best friends Maria and Larisa and to go to our high school's pep rally as official alumni! We'll get lunch at our favorite spot and get to catch up over the last couple of months.

5. My Yiayia's home cooked Thanksgiving dinner

I can't wait for a nice home cooked meal, especially my Yiayia's Thanksgiving dinner. She makes the best turkey, stuffing, and salad and I'm counting down the days until I get to eat it.

6. Getting to sleep in my bed

Sleeping in my own bed after sleeping in a dorm room bed will be the best. There's nothing like the feeling of your own bed, especially after a long day of eating Thanksgiving food.

7. Not having to do my own laundry

I'm not the best at this whole laundry thing, and I'll never be as good at at as my mom is. Having her do my laundry for a couple of days will be great.

8. Driving

I MISS DRIVING. Taking ubers everywhere gets old and I seriously can't wait to get behind the wheel.

9. Getting to work Black Friday

I have worked at Aerie for about a year now, and it is such a great job filled with the best people. I can't wait to work on Black Friday because I'm a broke college student who could desperately use some money, and so I can catch up with my managers and coworkers.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
