I am probably one of the most paranoid people you will ever meet. I am extremely careful about what I do and how it will affect me in the long run. One of my biggest reasons for not doing something usually consist of the famous two words, “What if.”
What if something happens and I end up in this situation? The thoughts lead from one negative situation to another. Here I am flying on my way to some place and the next thing I know, I am the next Tom Hanks on a deserted Island talking to Wilson’s cousin the basketball and eating palm tree bark for dessert. We shouldn't completely ignore the negative things that could go wrong as those help us with deciding if we should continue down a certain path.
However, what if I changed the negative connotation of those two words to something positive? For example, let’s just say there is some sort of Opportunity that arises and you don’t know if you should take it because of all the things that could go wrong. Except, we never think about all that could go right. Look at how much it could change you. How much it could help you see people in a different light. This opportunity could be the first step to a beautiful winding staircase full of beautiful and intricate possibilities. You will never know what is waiting at the top of this stair case all because you were afraid that the stair case was unstable or that there was a missing step.
That however is life. Obstacles come our way but they help us grow into a stronger version of us. We can help that stair case be sturdier. And don’t be afraid to take that leap of faith over that missing step because what if there is something spectacular waiting for you on the other side.
