This past month a lot has happened not only in the United States, but around the world.
I normally look over events involving politics, terrorists, and things of that nature because I know there is bad in the world. Personally, I just really don't like seeing it. However now, in today's world, it's inevitable. I see it everywhere. It's on social media, the news, on TV, the radio, even on my homepage thanks to Bing.
So lets recap on the terrible tragedies of the world this month.
Plane Crash
A flight from France to Egypt crashed in the Mediterranean. The flight had 66 people on board. Until this day no people have been found. Alive or died. The families and friends of the 66 people aboard have been without there loved ones for almost a month now. Not knowing if they are alive, or if they are dead, if they will ever be able to give them a proper funeral.
Standing against "honour" killings
In Pakistan people have been known to beat others to death in the name of religion or hate, sometimes even both. Maulana Muhammad Khan Sherani, and the Council of Islamic Ideology spoke up to restate that the law is clear. Beating, and/or killing due to sin is NOT justified by harsh punishment. In the United States this is a matter for the church, but in Pakistan, it's a matter of the law.
For people who do implement harsh punishment on those who have committed sin, they will be tried by law, based on Islamic teachings. This has been a very big right now in Pakistan because recently at least four cases in this month alone that have came to light over women who have been murdered over a "marital dispute". This law doesn't simply apply to husbands beating and killing there wives but to the whole community. Why is this needed? Last week, for example, a mother burned her daughter to death for marrying without permission. According to HRCP at least 109 people were killed in the last four months for related issues.

Lastly here in the United States we've had multiple shootings involving hate crimes, religion, terrorism and whatever other excuse people can come up with for taking a life. After doing some research I found that as of June 12th we have had 133 mass shootings in our 164 days into the year 2016.
How depressing is that? What has made the world so angry? so scared? and so reckless?
When later generations ask us about this year what will we tell them? This is simply a bad year to be alive? These things I mentioned were only the tip of the Ice Berge. How many more will have to die before we put a stop to this madness?
