A number of articles have been written about when sisters are best friends, or are exactly the same. This time however, I'm going to flip the script on its head. Not all sisters are exactly alike, sometimes they are actually the complete opposite of one other. This doesn't mean they don't love each other, it just means that they don't always see eye-to-eye on every issue. If your sister is the polar opposite to you, here's a list of six things that you may relate to.
1. You have different personalities.
You are two completely different people. Sometimes you wonder how you come from the same parents even. You sometimes get along great, but other times your personalities clash and it can turn in to a hair-pulling, name calling mess.
2. You don't share clothes.
What your sister wears, you wouldn't be caught dead in. AND what you wear, your sister couldn't imagine putting that on. This also makes for interesting shopping trips. Nevertheless, you always tell the other she looks great (Well...at least most of the time.)
3. You don't agree much.
Like I previously stated, you are two completely different people. You don't think the same way, but that's okay because you respect each others opinions.
4. There is no shortage of drama in the house.
Everything you guys have to work together on becomes an issue. You want it done this way, she wants it done that way. You know compromise is the best way to handle it, but its just really hard sometimes.
5. You don't have the same taste in friends.
Which means you may or may not like her friends too much. But if they make her happy, that makes you happy.
6. When you're out on the town together, you can't decide where to eat.
She wants Mexican, you like Italian and eventually you rock-paper-scissors because you just can't be the bigger person. This can also extend to cooking a meal at home. Occasionally you may agree on what to eat, but its every once in a blue moon.
Sometimes things get a little hectic, crazy and even stressful. But because you are opposites, you are never bored of your sister. You can fight like cats and dogs (and even that is an under-exageration), but at the end of the day, she is your oldest and best friend. She makes you a better person. Someone who is able to cooperate well with others who may not always see eye to eye with you. You teach other kindness, patience and how to compromise on a daily basis. Despite your differences, I hope you would do anything for your sister. I know I would.
