What Happened To Glenn?

"The Walking Dead" drops our jaws yet again.

What Happened To Glenn?

Two weeks ago on "The Walking Dead", fan favorite Glenn (played by Steven Yeun) was torn apart by walkers. Well, maybe. Just before Glenn's guts were yanked out by the hungry walkers, he and another guy (Nicholas) fell together into the crowd of zombies and it appeared that Glenn pulled Nicholas (played by Michael Traynor) on top of him as they fell. When we saw Glenn "die" he was laying on the ground flat on his back while the walkers tore apart his guts. Although, there was no sign of Nicholas. It is highly plausible that Glenn fell with Nicholas directly on top of him and the guts that we're being pulled out belonged to Nicholas and not Glenn.

This controversy has blown up all over the internet and started feuds between TWD fans across the globe. Some are certain that Glenn lives and some insist that there is no way Glenn could have survived. Both arguments are possible and I can see points on both sides but, I'm still conflicted. Here's what I'm thinking.

1. Even if Glenn is underneath Nicholas who is being torn apart, what would make us believe they would stop ripping when they got to Glenn's body? As we've seen, nothing stops walkers. If they got through Nicholas' body and reached Glenn they wouldn't just call it a day, they would keep going until there was nothing left to eat.

2. If, for whatever reason, the walkers did stop eating once they reached Glenn, what would the exit plan in this situation be? When we last saw Glenn he was laying on his back with either his own or (in this scenario) Nicholas' body being torn apart by no less than 50 zombies at the dead end of an alley, with more zombies on their way to join the feast. Exactly how is he supposed to get out of this alive? Thinking this way almost makes whose body was getting eaten irrelevant as this is Schrodinger's cat all over again.

3. This is sort of a minor detail and not necessarily a give away, but Steven Yeun's name is no longer in the intro credits. This could be an intentional ploy to mislead the audience into thinking he's dead when he isn't, you know, for the shock value. Or, Glenn's dead and Yeun is no longer an actor for the show.

4. Something Maggie said in a later episode about him just being gone and her never knowing what happened was too foreshadow-y to not be foreshadowing. Maybe we'll never know what happened to Glenn. As long as Schrodinger's box stays closed the cat is still alive right? Maybe the same is true for Glenn. He'll forever be in limbo.

Although, although, although. But, but, but. Maybe, maybe, maybe. I could go on with these speculations for days. I suppose we'll all have to just wait and see. I really hope he's not dead though, he's one of the best characters in the show and one of the very few remaining from the first season. I know to expect people to last this long in the post-apocalyptic world that is "The Walking Dead" is asking a lot but, c'mon man, it's GLENN. He's the best and sweetest character. He and his wife had the closest thing to a romance in the whole show. Considering the content of the rest of the show, their relationship was a regular Romeo and Juliet affair. Everyone else is so heartless and jaded at this point. We need the love between Maggie and Glenn as the refreshing palette cleanse that it's been. What will the show be without it?!? Ugh, I guess we'll find out.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
