I've often wondered if I were a superhero, who would I be? I think someone's major in college tells a lot about their personality and what is embodied in their chosen career path. Now, this list will be a bit slanted towards the wonderful students of Corban University, but in a lot of ways it can apply to other students.
1. Business=Batman
Batman, aka Bruce Wayne, is a business tycoon and knows the ins and outs of the business world. He's also a tad bit ruthless and ingenious, and fights for his desired outcome.
2. English=Green Lantern
The Green Lantern carries a ring of power that allows him to create all sorts of shapes out of energy. English majors do quite the same. Their out-of-box brains allow for many creative solutions.
3. Communications=Black Widow
Communication is a jack-of-all-trades sort of pursuit. And, like Black Widow, it calls for a lot of flexibility and gymnastics in areas of verbal, written, and bodily communication.
4. Health Science=Mr. Fantastic
Mr. Fantastic is actually first and foremost a doctor. Oftentimes, that calls for him to stretch himself in unimaginable ways for the betterment of those in his care.
5. Exercise Science= The Flash
The Flash is wicked fast and when dealing with the human body, we want them to work at full capacity all the time. Luckily, the exercise folks help speed up the process of healing.
6. Accounting=Rouge
Rouge has the ability to draw energy from others in order to heal herself and save the day. However, it's a dangerous responsibility, because someone's life, or their finances, are in her hands.
7. Music Education=Nightcrawler
Nightcrawler can transport himself through space to various places. So being essentially a double-major, music ed majors have to be in multiple places at once. They flip between music classes and education classes with flawlessness, though for 8 ams they may not look entirely human.
8. Elementary Education=Ant Man
Get it? Because they're so small! Just kidding. It takes a lot of practice to flip between being an adult and dealing with very young children every day.
9. Secondary Education=Falcon
The Falcon, aka Sam Wilson, is an ex-pilot, so he's been through stuff. And he has this sort of "devil-may-care, but we're going to do what we gotta do" kind of attitude. Education majors of this sort are usually a bit more specialized, so that allows for more in depth study.
10. Journalism=Spiderman
I know, everyone is going to ask "what about superman?" Hold on to your supersuits. Peter Parker, aka Spiderman, literally takes photos of himself as Spiderman for his job. He's also willing to put himself in some ridiculous situations in order to save the day and get the story.
11. Political Science=Daredevil
Daredevil, aka Matt Murdock, is actually a lawyer by trade, so he knows the ins and outs of the law; but sometimes it requires a little creative underhandedness to get justice done.
12. Ministry=Superman
At Bible schools, like Corban, Ministry is often seen as the most heroic of all the career paths. And due their study in apologetics, they have few weaknesses.
13. Sports Management
Because we all know the God of Thunder would have blast managing athletic teams. He'd definitely put the Hammer down if they didn't do their burpees.
14. Biblical Studies/Theology=Captain America
Captain Steve Rogers is the All-American with little fault; and often at Christian colleges we look at those who pursue bible and theology in a similar way. They pursue justice and patriotism in the name of Heaven.
15. Mathematics=Iron Man
Because Tony Stark is a genius who talks a mile-a-minute, leaving all of us staring in complete confusion. But someone who can understand the concepts and applications of mathematics certainly is cool enough to wear the suit.
16. History=Wolverine
Wolverine is self-regenerating, so he's really old. He's certainly seen a lot of history, and knows a lot. Just don't get the facts wrong, or else you'll get clawed.
17. Humanities=Doctor Strange
Doctor Strange deals with a whole realm, or multiple realms, of possibilities. As does the humanities. It's a strange pursuit, but one that definitely requires a lot of elevated thought.
18. Music=Gambit
Hailing from Louisiana, Gambit's got a jazzy sort of feel to him. He's a bit eccentric and knows how to masterfully play his cards well.
19. Psychology=Professor X
The guy has mind reading powers, come on! And yet he chooses to use it to help people unlock their potential.
20. Intercultural Studies=Black Panther
Sometimes it can be like wading through a jungle to understand someone else's language or culture. But Black Panther scales and hops the trees like he's walking through a park.
21. Marketing=Human Torch
Johnny Storm certainly knows how to market himself. He plays the crowd and knows exactly what they want, and how he can use that to his advantage; but he uses that to instead help save the world, again.
22. Criminal Justice=Wonder Woman
She's a woman on a mission for justice. Plain and simple.
23. Media Arts=Deadpool
Deadpool repeatedly break the fourth wall and sort of does thing really outside the box. He's cutting edge.
24. Forensic Psychology=The Hulk
The non-threatening side of the Hulk is the genius Dr. Bruce Banner. The Hulk perfectly embodies the split-personality disorder ascribed to heroism.
25. Worship Arts=Hawkeye
Because he repeatedly has to remind people that he's an Avenger too! He's the heart of a lot of superheros, and does amazing things, regardless of lack of superpowers. Plus, he's seriously sassy.
Hope you enjoyed the list! Do you agree? Disagree?
