OK, so we all have our favorite foods, favorite colors, and favorite shows. But what about favorite breeds? That's right, we're talking everyone's favorite subject, dogs.
Have you ever wondered what type of dog would best suit a personality as unique as your own? Do you think your dog is a good fit for you? Just generally curious about what lies below? Well, then read on to hear what owning certain dog breeds can say about their beloved owner.
Golden Retriever
The classic, all-American choice. If you're lucky enough to have one of these beauties then you are most likely a down-to-earth, caring, and traditional individual. The owners of golden retrievers are going to be some of the most loyal and trustworthy people around. They'll follow and support you until the end of time, and will share love with you unconditionally just like Golden Retrievers.
German Shepherd
Yet another classic breed, however, owners of German Shepherds aren't usually the traditional type. If you own one of these puppies it's likely that you like to look and feel powerful, or that you wanted a guard dog as your companion. German Shepherds are strong, yet reliable. They will always be by your side, much like their owners. Powerful and resilient are two words to describe these people.
Chihuahua
If you're a proud (or not proud) owner of a Chihuahua, you're probably a spunky individual who isn't afraid to take a chance -- a chance that your pup may be a handful that will often be mistaken as a domesticated rat. I would recommend one of these lil' babies to someone who carries around a purse with enough room to fit your sidekick in, and also someone who is interested in dressing their dog up in fancy sweaters and coats. These more outgoing individuals embrace anything that comes their way, especially people who walk by and say, "I almost just stepped on your dog!"
Boxer
Ah, what a solid dog choice. These are some of the best-behaved dogs around. Always down to play, but also always down for a nice cuddle session -- much like their owners. Boxer owners tend to be kind and relaxed people who aren't often phased by outside distractions, literally just like Boxers. A Boxer is a great selection for anyone that is looking for a pup to be their forever best friend.
Mastiffs
Whether English or Bull, these dogs have some seriously strong personalities just like their owners. These massive dogs aren't afraid to let everyone know when they enter a room and are very comfortable in their own skin despite their overwhelming size. Mastiff owners can relate in that they are usually the life of the party, and very confident in who they are. Definitely don't take on owning a Mastiff if you aren't prepared for them to sit on your lap regardless of the fact that they're twice your size.
Cocker Spaniel
Gentle, yet feisty. Precious, yet wild. These are just some of the ways to describe Cocker Spaniels -- and their owners. Though appearing to be pristine and calm at first, once you get to know them (the person or the dog, this applies to both) their true personality comes out. They are certainly not as reserved as you once thought. Some of the most outspoken and charismatic people around, Cocker Spaniel owners may come across as shy at first, but only until you get to know them.
Mutts
Now, I may be a little biased when it comes to this category of dogs because these are some of the best pups around. Don't get me wrong, purebred dogs and their owners are both great but the mystery that comes with mutts and their owners is unprecedented. You may never know your dogs true heritage, but that's part of why mutt owners love their dog's so much. They are carefree and adventurous individuals, that live by the mantra that with no risk comes no reward.
If your dog isn't on the above list, you're most likely a mix of different personalities listed above. But you also may just be a hipster that doesn't want to give in and get one of these common breeds which is totally OK, too.
