Every person has a different personality, however there are some determiners to how you formed the personality you now have, and the order in which you were born has a lot to do with it.
Firstborns are known for being the responsible ones of the family but they also have these identifiers:
- Reliable
- Conscientious
- Structured
- Cautious
- Controlling
- Achievers
Firstborns try their hardest to function as mini-adults since they crave being in their parents' presence. They try their hardest to be accepted by their elders, and form their personalities and mannerisms to do so. The best way for them to be able to be a part of the older crowd is to be perfect at everything they do in order to gain acceptance. Just as firstborns are striving to spend time with their parents, parents spend the most time disciplining and enforcing good grades among the firstborns. Firstborns tend to have the highest IQ of the rest of their siblings and are usually the most self-disciplined. As far as marriage goes firstborns get hitched the earliest. One way to ensure mom and dad love you is by getting married to the perfect person, and it fulfills their sense of duty to the family. Not surprisingly firstborns marry those close in age with themselves, because who wants a reminder of their sibling?
Middle Children are often called the forgotten child but they have certain qualities that make them stand out such as:
- People-pleasers
- Somewhat rebellious
- Thrives on friendships
- Has large social circle
- Peacemaker
Middle children are known for their social skills. Since the attention of their parents has been given to the oldest child, or the youngest, the middle child often makes an impression with their peers. Middle children also seem to be the happiest when it comes to relationships. This can be attributed to the fact that they have grown up without the expectation of perfection, and don’t need constant attention. They are happy to live their life “outside the spotlight.”
The youngest tend to get a bad rap for being the baby of the family, but they do have some redeeming qualities alongside the bad such as:
- Fun-loving
- Uncomplicated
- Manipulative
- Outgoing
- Attention-seeker
- Self-centered
The youngest child tends to live with the least amount of rules, causing them to have a more free-spirited attitude toward life. They also tend to be among the more popular in a group of friends. Along with that is their tendency to be more agreeable and empathetic. Unlike their firstborn siblings who have no problem speaking their mind, the youngest tends to be more sensitive to bringing up an issue. Having older siblings often results in the youngest child striving the most for attention from just about anyone.
Only Children can be known for being either extremely shy, or extremely outgoing, they do have other qualities to them such as:
- Mature for their age
- Perfectionists
- Conscientious
- Diligent
- Leaders
Being an only child is a unique situation. As a result of not having any siblings to compete with the only child is the sole beneficiary of their parent’s attention and resources, for the entirety of their life. It comes as a positive and a negative that only children get the all of their parents support, and all of their expectations hand in hand. The only child usually comes out in the form of an extreme firstborn, with lots of pressure, and attention. Like the first born the only child will try to maintain a position of high status in the work place, and aim to attend their parents approval.
