Have you ever stopped to think how odd the concept of thinking is? Our ability as humans to simply abstractly muse on any given subject is a complete marvel. At any point in time, you can be sitting, living life, fulfilling the basic needs of your survival as a living, breathing, eating human being, and your brain can have the ability to grasp or think upon a concept higher and more grand than anything that any basic creature could even begin to comprehend. We think about many things, from the ways in which we survive, what we want to eat, how we are going to get what we want to eat, how we are going to spend our day, practical things, but we can also form thoughts far beyond that. We can think on things far beyond even our own current comprehension, so that we may find answers and enlighten ourselves, so that we may move on to even newer and even more extravagant concepts and questions. We have the ability to run through potential paths in our heads, predicting outcomes for events such as conversations, purchases and even predicting how our lives might play out, or at least the possibility that is charged by the ideas and knowledge in your head. We can think about abstracts. Concepts we cannot visualize, that are beyond our inherent comprehension, stuff like the speed of light and the very idea of infinity, and still come to some sort of understanding about the world around us. We use these concepts to better our own world, to further our understanding of natural sciences, such as physics and biology, and, in turn, we use these intellectual findings to further our ability in fields such as medicine, where we further our ability to cure and eliminate the diseases that make our life more difficult, and geology, so that we may further understand our world around us, and better protect ourselves from the hazards that it holds. We may think about how to better our own lives, how to get ourselves into more advantageous situations so that we and our offspring may survive. We often think about our own lives, and we may even think about how other peoples lives our, how they see the world, in an attempt to gain some insight into another's point of view. We may even contemplate our own existence in some sort of existential debate or even crises that may drive us into the verge of insanity, where we may wonder what it would be like if we were to peer over into the darkness. Would we see something stare back, or would we even care at that point?Even after all of these thoughts, there so many more out there yet to be thought. There are infinite possibilities of thought and infinite undiscovered concepts that are waiting to burst through into our reality. What new thoughts will you bring into this world?
