  • Trips back home will be rare.
  • So when you get the chance to make one, take it.
  • Because not everyday is guaranteed, and it has a way of changing in the blink of an eye.
  • So hug them tight every chance you get—especially your Grammy.
  • The older boy you think is cute is NOT God’s gift to man, but he will teach you some valuable lessons.
  • Give it a little bit of time and you’re eventually going to fall in love with the shy one who catches your eye at the first fraternity BBQ.
  • And that same boy will break your heart a time or two. But you’ll be thankful for the lessons that he teaches you, because the hard times will only make you that much stronger and make you love him that much more.
  • Which is why you should always know what is fighting for.
  • For example, you will regret- more than anything- holding that grudge against the girl who was practically your sister and who’s family was your own.
  • But also know when it is time to walk away.
  • Like from the girl who you thought was your “friend,” yet who turned out to show her true colors and continues to hurt you.
  • Know that when a person’s true colors don’t paint a pretty picture, there is nothing you can do to change it.
  • People will always be watching you. That’s a fact of life.
  • People also love having something to talk about. So be mindful not to share too much.
  • Opportunity won’t always come knocking at your door. Sometimes you have to go out and find it.
  • The long nights at the library will pay off eventually.
  • Exercise gives you more energy than a nap will. I promise.
  • Girls are mean. You already know this.
  • And oddly enough, boys talk drama just as much as some girls do.
  • Be careful not to let your guard down.
  • You will never regret being the bigger person in a situation.
  • There will be people in this world who won’t like you.
  • Some will have a reason why they don’t like you;
  • Others won’t have, or need, any reason at all.
  • Most of the time they are hateful towards you due to how they feel about themselves. Don’t take it personally.
  • So whether they love you, like you, hate you—you should love them. Do it from a distance. It will make you that much stronger.
  • You and your best friend may have gone to separate colleges, but she's never more than a phone call or text away.
  • Never look at someone as superior or inferior to you. Treat everyone with respect, even when it is not given to you.
  • Remember that there is never a reason to be rude.
  • Not every second of your life needs to be documented on Snapchat. Honestly, most pictures don’t need to be on your social media anyway. Again, people will always be watching.
  • You may think you’re a big girl now, but you will always need your momma and daddy, just like they will always need their little girl.
  • Grampy is always right. The quicker you admit this, the wiser you will be.
  • Drama was petty in high school. It’s just as petty in college.
  • So do yourself a favor and take yourself out of it—don’t waste your time on it.
  • There will be times when you want to give up, when you feel like you can’t escape rock bottom. When those times come, find your way to the altar and pray.
  • These years will go by faster than you think. You’ll finish your first semester and before you know it, you’ll be filling out your degree plan.
  • So soak up EVERY single possible moment that you can. These years may not be what you consider the “best years of your life”, but they are years that you will never get back. The opportunities you are given, you will only get now, so take advantage of every single one.
  • But if you do get to the end of college and don’t think they were the best years of your life, then you didn’t do it right.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
