I bet we could all say that we have had a promise broken in our lives. We have either had someone break theirs to us or maybe we were the ones who didn't hold up our end of the deal. Maybe you are both! The amazing thing is that Gods word is full of so many promises that he wants to make with us. They will never be broken or beaten and they make a good pinky promise look shameful. Here are some promises that God has given us. Let us be reminded of these when going through times of confusion or difficulty.
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
You are not only promised a future but a prosperous one! God wants to give you his gifts and he wants to see you succeed but, you just might have to get to your destination in a way that you never thought was even possible. God wants to use you if you will allow him to take control over your life. Listen to his guidance and walk in his obedience.
Matthew 11:28-29
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
You are promised to always have a safe haven. You are promised to always have a rock to lean on. God promises to remove all of our burdens and to renew us whenever we call upon him. We can rest in the fact that we do not always have to be strong or put on a brave face because our God is always there when we fall short. God will always be there to take you back in after every mistake and restore your hope.
Proverbs 1:33
But all who listen to me will live in peace,
untroubled by fear of harm.
God wants to take away all of your fears and anxiety. He wants to offer you a world void of all worries. He promises that if you listen to his wisdom and guidance that he will take care of you and that you should have no fear.
Philippians 4:19
And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.
God will supply everything that you need. He may not give you what you want, but he will give you what he thinks you need. You may not even know what you need, but you can trust in the father to know you better than you know yourself.
Isaiah 40:29-31
He gives power to the weak
and strength to the powerless.
Even youths will become weak and tired,
and young men will fall in exhaustion.
But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint.
He has promised to be the strength when you feel like you cannot fight anymore. Like Moses, he will hold your arms up when you can no longer carry the weight to win the battle. He promises that as long as you believe in him and devote your life to him he will honor you and give you new life. The kind of life where you go after what you want and do what you need to do to win souls and change lives.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
Lastly, he wants to give you life. He wants to give you eternal life. He wants to be with you for eternity in a place where you can feel no pain or sorrow. He wants to relieve you of all of your mistakes and sins and trade them in for everylasting grace and comfort.
