Who would really win?
There is an age long sci-fi debate about what mythical creature is better: a vampire or a werewolf. There are even many movies, tv shows, comic books and novels centered around the vampire vs. werewolf genre. If you were to ask me, I would pick vampires, but that’s because I am a Trubie ("True Blood" Fan). But, here are some of the main characteristics of each creature so that you can decide for yourself who would win in a fight.
Werewolves
Werewolves originate from western folklore and are more commonly
known as lycans within the science fiction community. Their physical
characteristics are similar to a normal wolf just larger when in wolf form and when in human form they are usually very physically fit individuals. They only transition into their werewolf
form during a full moon and the rest of the month they remain in normal
human form. They turn, which means to make a new werewolf, by scratching
another person while in their were form. Some of their strengths include speed
and strength and their weaknesses are silver and wolfs bane. Some famous TV shows that involve werewolves
are: "True Blood," "Doctor Who" and "Teen
Wolf."
Vampires
Vampires originate from different folklores all around the
world. Their physical characteristics are typically pale skin, more of a bony
face structure, and fangs when they decide to release them to feed. A vampire’s
personality is commonly sophisticated and charismatic; they are portrayed are
suave individuals trying to charm people into getting what they want. Vampires
are essentially evolved con men and women. They transition into their true forms at night since in most genres
vampires either burn, get sick, or melt if exposed to sunlight. According to "True Blood," the television show, they turn
others into vampires by feeding on them then giving them their blood. Vampire’s strengths include immortality,
flight and speed while their weaknesses lay in sunlight, crosses and silver. Some
famous TV shows that revolve around vampires include: "Buffy The Vampire Slayer," "Vampire Diaries," "True Blood" and "Being Human."
Both vampires and werewolves bring unique characteristics to the table. They have differing strengths and weaknesses, so it is truly up to your personal preferences as to which side of the debate you are on. So this Halloween try something new and binge watch a new sci-fi show on Netflix or sit back and watch a horror flick; it's up to you. Happy Halloween, and now you choose…
