It's the 21st Century and technology is at the best it has ever been. Tablets, smart TVs, apple watches, and much more of the newest and advanced technology around is becoming more and more popular as each day passes. One thing that many people have and can't go without is their cell phones. Now, it's almost impossible not to see someone texting, calling, or checking their social media accounts on their phones. Not to say the cell phones aren't very convenient to have, because they are, but as time goes on, it's as if people get more and more consumed with their phone, and aren't even enjoying what's around them. As you read on, ask yourself, does this sound like you?

Have you ever been out to dinner with someone, and they have been on their phones pretty much the whole course of the meal, or worse, you both have? What about when you're hanging out with your friends, but yet all you can find to do is play on your phones and check the latest statues on Facebook, the latest tweets, and if there are any updates on Snapchat. To me, the point of going out is to engage with one another in conversation, and to actually talk to each other. Put away the phones, and actually be present in the moment. Your phones aren't going anywhere.

For many of us, our cell phones are like an accessory. We can never go anywhere without it. If we can't find it, forget about it, our day is pretty much spent searching for it, and if it's ruined, we rush to the nearest store to get it fixed.

Many of us are obsessed with letting people know what we're doing every single minute of ever day. Not to say that I'm not a part of this group because I am, but it can become a bit bunch. Instead of enjoying the moment and what we're doing, we constantly have the need to pull out our phones and record that moment on Snapchat for the world to see. We want everyone to experience our lives no matter what we may be doing.

Not to say that cell phones and all of the newest technology is negative, but sometimes it can be a bit much. What would it be like if we all went one day without using our phones? How would society act? There's no doubt that this would be a challenge for many of us, including myself. In this day and age, cell phones are pretty much essential, and without one, many of us feel lost. There is that convenience factor as well as that source of entertainment. Whenever we're bored, we can just look to our phones to find the latest gossip or recent updates on Snapchat. Our cell phones can pretty much do it all.

Not to say the cell phones shouldn't exist or that they're a waste of money, because they're definitely one of the most valuable pieces of technology that we as humans have. Without them life would be much less convenient. With this said though, I challenge you to put your phones down, and to just go out and enjoy life. Don't feel as if you have to capture the moment on Snapchat or post a selfie on Instagram, just enjoy what you're doing for you. Even though it's nice to have those memories and to have every single moment of your life captured, it's nice to just enjoy life too.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
