Welcome To The Jungle

Uh huhhh, honey.

Welcome To The Jungle

Once upon a time in the land of savages, there once was a innocent country-pop singer. She worked really, really hard and broke up with lots and lots of boyfriends-- to soon enough find herself conquering the music charts.

In 2009, she won Best Female Video Award at the VMAs, when suddenly the big, bad rapper interfered during her acceptance speech. The ferocious intoxicated artist yelled, "Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you. Imma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time.”

This was just the beginning of the madness. After back to back years of lyrical subbing, the two somehow moved past the shots that had been fired. Maybe because they made big bucks off the shamelessly inspired tracks, or maybe because they wanted to go about it on the high road?

Regardless, these ex-frenemies united and made headlines in 2015, by holding a conversation and simply taking a picture together-- with smiles and laughs, of course.

Things remained smooth. All was good.

The country-pop singer presented the big, bad rapper with the MTV Video Vanguard Award. “I first met Kanye West six years ago, at this show, actually!” and then stated how his debut album was oddly enough the first album she's ever purchased on iTunes. Awww.

Then to make the moment more cheesy she pulled a 'him' on him in a cute and harmless manner.

And they all lived happily ever after..... Just kidding. Back to frenemies it was!

It only took ONE stinkin' year for things to hit a complete 180.

The big, bad rapper premiered several "snip-its" from tracks on his new album during his fashion show, with the most memorable snip-it being lyrics from the song entitled Famous. In the song, it was suggested that he made "that [country-pop] b*tch famous."

Sure enough this brought on immediate backlash, so the proclaimed egotistical rapper made sure to clarify on Twitter that he had an hour long conversation with her about the line prior to the release but most importantly, that she ultimately gave him her blessing.

Well, surprise, surprise. She denied it and threw shade when accepting another award, of course, on the iconic Grammy's stage.

But it wouldn't be headlined pop culture news if the big, bad rapper's Kardashian wifey didn't step in, now would it?

While interviewing with GQ in June she completely called out the country-pop singer diva, saying that she knew all about the lines in the song-- assuring the world that the big, bad rapper did proper protocol and asked for approval.

Then last night happened.

The big, bad wifey posted a mesmerizing series of her hubby speaking to the singer on the phone. In the videos, the country-pop diva verbally signed off on the controversial lyrics, calling it a "compliment," and so the #KimExposedTaylorParty commenced-- basically calling her a liar.

This worldwide trending exposé called on several feedback and the art of subtweeting has hit a new supreme. It got even bigger once Khloe Kardashian, Selena Gomez, Chloe Grace Moretz stepped on in via Twitter-- with of course, the savage wifey still going off. I must say, it wasn't pretty.

There was no mercy, and most definitely, no chill. It was basically 'breaking' the internet take two. All claws were out, welcome to the jungle.

The diva made a statement via Instagram this morning saying:

“Being falsely painted as a liar when I was never given the full story or played any part of the song is character assassination,” she continued. “I would very much like to be excluded from this narrative, one that I have never asked to be a part of, since 2009.”

Most stories have happy endings, or to simply put it, an end in general. But it seems like this back-and-forth feud won't have one any time soon.

Who's right, who's wrong? Is this country-pop diva as innocent as she seems? How CLEVER is the big, bad rapper for having prior knowledge regarding California recording laws? He can't be sued! Will this wifey ever just... stop? Or do they honestly just do this for lyrical inspiration?

One might call this petty, but others would call this savage. Take whichever side you please, have the popcorn handy, and get ready for new music.

There's no doubt that it will certainly be epic.

Who knows? Maybe the big, bad rapper will collaborate with the country-pop diva's most recent subbing ex-boyfriend, an extremely hot and well-known Scottish DJ. Does the name Calvin Harris ring a bell?

So if that were to happen, you saw it here first.

Okay, well, I guess the current moral of this never-ending story is to always stay ruthless and have your loved ones back, right?

But are these extremes really even that necessary? I don't think so. I think every logical adult would agree.

Stay tuned.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
