Food.
Everybody eats. Nobody eats the same food. In fact, there are delicacies around the world that would intialy turn people's stomach's over. So I have compiled a list of "weird" food around the world, which some I have possibly/not eaten or want to try.
1) Sannakji hoe (ģ°ėģ§ ķ), Korea
The native Korean dish is live octopus cut up, and seared with sesame oil. Be careful while eating because the tentacles an still stick to your throat!
2) Basahi ć°ćć², Japan
Although found in a lot of other countries (like the US illegally cough cough), Japan has a unique perspective on Horse meat, by serving it like sashimi.
3) Crocodile Tail, New Orleans, LA
A delicacy in New Orleans, Louisiana, Crocodile tail can be served grilled, on a stick, a po' boy, you name it. It really does taste like Chicken.
4) Alpaca, Peru
The Peruvian national animal also makes for good jerky, burgers, and other delicious dishes. I have tried this in Cusco. I am half Peruvian so although I may be biased, it taste pretty good in burger form.
5) Chicken feet, Chinatown, NYC
Chicken feet can also be found in numerous cultures and countries but the ones I've eaten (yes I actually tried them) were in NYC's oldest Chinatown Dim Sum place Nom Wah Tea Parlor. Even though they are pretty gross looking and on the slimy slide, it is pretty sweet tasting! Just don't choke on the bone.
6) Criadillas de Toro, Spain
Bull balls.
If you've ever taken a Spanish class in high school, then you must have heard of what you hoped as only a crude joke or myth, but it is in fat true. Originally people ate the balls of the bull that lost in the last bull fight. Now you can just ask your local butcher to special order these babies.7) Pan Fried Grasshoppers, Uganda
According to BuzzUganda, if you are offered this in a Uganda household, that means they repeat you so take it as a huge compliment!
8) Balut, Philippines
This is a common Fillipino food that is exactly what this picture en-captures. an 11 day old fermented egg cooked. according to Shadowsgalor.com's article "5 EXOTIC STREET FOODS FROM SOUTH EAST ASIA", balut should be eaten "with salt, chili, garlic and vinegar seasoning the egg... broth surrounding the embryo is sipped from the egg. Then the shell is peeled and the yolk and young chick inside can be eaten."
9) Tehal, Morocco
it is Stuffed Camel Spleen. Itās usually filled with beef or lamb, olives, spices, and a bit of hump fat and served in a sandwich!
10) Spam Musubi, Hawaii
Hawaii really loves
their spam okay?11) Emu, Australia
According to travel.cnn.com, many eat Emu "in a pie made up of emu meat, smoked emu, feta cheese, red wine, sun-dried tomato, onion and Tasmanian black pepper -- all in a filo-pastry crust."
So what are you willing to try next?
