Call it lack of motivation or lack of willpower — either way, my motivation to pin workouts is much larger than my motivation to actually do them. I'm pretty sure my legs turning red while running means I'm allergic or something? Here are 10 facts you can relate to if you also struggle to lose weight.
1. Your Pinterest board is thousands deep in "30-day squat challenges" and you've done three squats.
2. Your payment is automatically deducted each month, and they still don't know who you are.
3. But the key card looks cool on your lanyard, and the sticker on your car means you go there.
4. Your busy schedule is to blame for your lack of motivation.
5. You don't just waste a $1.99 four-piece mozzarella stick coupon; you use it.
6. GNC looks really cool, but honestly, I doubt that "strawberry margarita pre-workout" is as cool as a real margarita.
7. You buy clothes in smaller sizes as "motivation," but they actually turn into garage sale clothes.
8. You have 38 pictures of cute, skinny girls in your phone whom you look at and hope the self-loathing will burn calories.
9. People don't realize that "you are skinny" isn't a compliment to you. You're unhappy with your body, so that's all you see.
10. You ignore the texts that ask to go hiking, but you respond immediately to taco Tuesday dates and Wednesday wine days are a tradition.
I'm all for "loving the body you're in," but I do believe everyone has their pros and cons of their own body. I'm super into doing what you wish with your own body, so if you choose to spend four hours a day pumping weight in the gym, go you! If you want to eat that whole box of cereal in one sitting, go you! I hope one day those Pinterest photos will encourage you to hop off the couch and do "commercial abs." Until then, chunky peeps unite, and I'm always down to get chicken strips.
