Why Wednesday Addams Is My Spirit Animal

Be afraid, be very afraid (just kidding).

Why Wednesday Addams Is My Spirit Animal

I am a friendly girl, but I hate people sometimes. I know that it's hard to understand, but it's a thing. The best way that I can sum it up is that Wednesday Addams is, in fact, my spirit animal. I may smile often and crack a lot of laughs, but there is a twisted sense of humor within me that Wednesday completely understands. The beautiful and lovely Melissa Hunter created a YouTube series called "Adult Wednesday Addams" that won my heart, but, unfortunately, it's no longer made. I haven't truly looked into why, I just know that I miss it. I showed a lot of my friends and laughed endlessly at her jokes while some of my friends sat in disgust and others awkwardly laughed. There's still a few up on YouTube if you want to check those out, though. They're hilarious (well, they are to me).

She is always honest.

I'm not going to lie, honesty gets me in trouble sometimes. I have a horrible tendency to blurt things out before thinking them through more often than not.

Just like Wednesday, when I don't care, I just don't care.

I hate pretending to be happy when I'm not. Lucky for you, you'll always know when I'm upset or unamused. I'm like a mirror. That's a good thing, right?

The good thing about being a sweetheart is that I'm harmless.

I might have the power to hurt you, but I'll only ever kill you in my mind. Violence is never the answer.

If you think that I will hurt you for some reason, don't freak out. I'll just say a sly remark.

It really takes a lot for me to be physically violent, so fret not.

Most of the time, I encourage others to get along. You don't want to be a monster or even to fear monsters. Take adult Wednesday's advice.

This is deep, I know.

I normally have a smile on, but some days I have a bad case of RBF (resting bitch face). If someone points it out, I'll reply with:

When the sarcasm rolls in, be afraid.

Sarcasm can be playful, but, most of the time, I mean what I say in that sarcastic tone.

If I hit you with my sarcasm, take it like a champ.

No one likes a baby.

If my soul had a color, it'd be "blackest black" just like my Maybelline eyeliner.

I like to joke around with that one. It's not entirely black, but it's not really fuzzy and warm either.

Overall, Wednesday is awesome and clearly so am I or else you wouldn't be reading and sharing.

Make sure that you share this with your Wednesday Addams lovers.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

There have been many lessons learned.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
