Girls are envious of how “natural” other girls look. Those “natural” looking girls will go on social media and say “I’m so glad I look good without makeup” or “I love that I don’t have to put much makeup on”. I’ve always been one of those girls. Except for the times when my face breaks out before mother nature pays a visit, I have relatively clear skin. I still put on a little foundation and some mascara, but that’s it. If I go out without makeup, I don’t fret about it. Either way, I’m okay with the way I look.

Then there are the girls who wear a lot of makeup and negatively respond to the “naturally pretty” girls. They say things like “must be nice to not have to wear makeup” or “shut up about being naturally pretty”. I hate seeing these things. It absolutely breaks my heart that there are girls out there that think they need makeup in order to be beautiful.

Newsflash: You are naturally beautiful and I want you to realize that.

No girl on this planet needs makeup. I do not care who you are, how terrible your skin is, or how ugly you think you are without it. Every girl is beautiful without makeup and deserves to feel that way.

Makeup should be viewed as something that enhances your beauty, not creates it.

Makeup should be looked at like a food dish (and out comes my inner "Chopped" judge). You have a dish of food that is wonderful. It has all the right flavors and some of the flavors are outstanding on their own. The dish of food by itself is great, but sometimes if you add a little bit of lemon or mint, you can help those flavors pop even more!

Makeup is no different. Your face and your features are wonderful on their own. Your natural beauty is there and will always be there no matter how much makeup you put on your face. If you want to make your features pop, add a little bit of lemon or mint (in this case, maybe some eye shadow and mascara) to make it pop!

I don’t hate girls who wear makeup. I hate that girls feel obligated to wear makeup in order to be beautiful. I hate the reason why some girls wear makeup. It hurts me to think that there are girls out there that feel like they need makeup to be presentable. It hurts to know that there are girls who don’t think they are attractive without makeup.

If you want to wear makeup to feel better about yourself, go ahead! Makeup can be a confidence booster and make you feel better about yourself. If you’re wearing makeup because you’re insecure with how you look or how others view you, I want to recognize that you are absolutely beautiful without it. You don’t need to wear makeup to be beautiful because you already are.

Looking absolutely, perfectly beautiful isn’t the most important thing in the world. What matters is that you are just as beautiful on the inside as you naturally are on the outside.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
