"We the People"...The famous first words of the document that entails the rights of the American people. The famous first words of the document that states all United States citizens are equal and all United States citizens are unified under one term: Americans.
This is an idea that was created nearly 250 years ago and has, for the most part, been successful. Yes, we have had our ups and downs throughout history, but in the end, the final result is a positive one. The Civil War, recognizing women's rights, the Civil Rights movement lead by Martin Luther King Jr. These three key events in American history helped pave the road to where we were before 2008.
Before 2008, the U.S. was lead by men and women in congress who did whatever they could unify Americans under one umbrella. The division between races, especially black and white, was becoming more and more underwhelming and we were seeing less and less hate crimes across our nation, but we are now again at a crossroads. The man the American people voted in as president in 2008, and again in 2012, was suppose to be the man who put a total and complete END to racial division in our country. By electing an African American president, it showed how accepting white Americans were of African Americans and the progress we have made over the past 50 years. Instead of being the savior he was suppose to be, this man has split the country in two. Seen by many as a racist himself, this man who YOU voted for America has done all but blow out the flame on racial coexistence. All he has done has taken us to the point we are at now; anarchy.
Barack Hussein Obama has been nothing but a catalyst in the growing racial division in the U.S. Failing to recognize the criminal acts of men such as Michael Brown and Trayvon Martin and immediately jumping to conclusions and condemning the law enforcement officers has been a steady habit of President Obama's. Repeatedly victimizing minorities instead of helping them by installing jobs and a sense of responsibility in their communities. His actions are absolutely dumbfounding to Americans, such as myself. People like me believe in working for your money, the Second Amendment, equal rights for all Americans, not victimizing the minority but instead lifting them up and empowering them and certainly not blaming the police officers of America for killing innocent black men. If you truly believe men such as Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin and Freddy Gray were not resisting arrest, it's time for a reality check. This rant will end here but check in next week for another installment of Face of a Generation.
