We The People Are American
leeiten439.com

We the people, are American. Sure, we come from different backgrounds but that’s what makes up our beautiful country. We became our own country to escape the tyranny of those ruling over us. People immigrated here so that they could have BETTER lives. But lately, “beautiful” and “better lives” wouldn’t be words I would associate America with. In fact, I would probably use “embarrassing”. We have made a mockery of things that our fore fathers set into place before us. Our second amendment rights are on their way out because some people think that will stop criminals. CRIMINALS, mind you, don’t follow the law to begin with. Oh and people are using their first amendment rights to complain on social media. Facebook is not going to start a movement people, it begins with you. In Atlanta there was a successful PEACEFUL PROTEST, few arrests and no one injured or killed. Imagine that, people standing up for what they believe in, the way it’s supposed to be. Maybe there is hope for our country. According the previous generations, us milennial’s are lazy and entitled. WE are the ones fighting this war. WE are the ones dealing with the consequences. We’ve been taught to always be accepting of who someone is but been shown mostly the opposite. Where is our integrity? Our acceptance? Our God? In the bible, Mark 12:31 says, “Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself”. As the bible also says, in Luke 6:41, “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?”. We have all sinned, there is no one amongst that has not. To judge others is to be a hypocrite and for what are you judging others for, their skin color? Skin color happens to be a product of genetics, something that we have no control over. Babies are not born racist or judgmental. Naturally, we are born to be loving creatures of the human race but taught to be hateful. I was not born white, I was born American but society told me that I am white. A small box on paperwork told me that I am white. Seeing someone strapped with a gun in public didn’t make me nervous, but society tells me I should fear them. I do not fear being mugged by a black man, but society says that I should. I do not cringe at the sight of a lone white male at school, but society says he’s probably mentally unstable and might lose it one day. Our society is full of stereotypes that so many of us pay attention to and feed. I do not fear these stereotypes. I fear that we have lost faith in our God. I fear that we have lost faith in our country. I fear that we may not be able to come back from this. It is time that we take back our country and make it better. It is time that the only label we adhere to from here on out, is American. I am not white, I am American and I am damn proud.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
